Tesco Value Flour

Description: Manufacturer: Tesco / Type: Baking Aids

... which cost at least twice as much. You get a 1.5kg bag and granted the bag looks and feels cheap but it is strong enough to do its job so why does it matter what it looks like? It is the nice white colour that flour should be and I have absolutely no complaints about the stuff whatsoever, Tesco also do a self raising version of the flour too and having used both for various things I can tell you that it is well worth its tiny cost and you will never spend more on brand named flour again....more

Tesco Value Flour is a very useful, staple, cupboard ingredient that can be used in a very wide variety of recipes. The flour is provided in a paper bag and is white in appearance. I normally transfer my flour to an airtight container once open to ensure that it is kept fresh as I find that the bag is likely to leak and tears happen quite easily with this packaging. The flour isn't really any different in appearance to other more expensive products on the market but you might find it better for your recipes if you sift it before use. The price is around half that of the other Tesco range of flour if not more than half the price. I use ...  Read the complete review

Probably the most basic of all cooking ingredients has to be Plain White Flour, it is used in hundreds of recipes, whether it be baking of biscuits, cookies or pancakes or as part of the recipes of soups and broths. It is an ingredient that 99% of households will have a supply of in their kitchen cupboard all the time. ~~Variants~~ The are many different types of flour available, whether it be plain white flour, wholemeal or brown flour. There are also different versions of these different flour types, for example plain, self raising or bread flour and of all these there are also different brands available, Tesco own brands being the more ...  Read the complete review

Like many people I've tried to cut down on my weekly shopping bill & have sampled quite a few items from the Tesco Value range with varying degrees of success. One of the products I bought was Tesco Value flour & I shall stick to buying this for baking & cooking as it costs less than half the price of my usual bag. The photo shows exactly what you'll get & it weighs 1.5kg & costs only 43p & Tesco also sell a self-raising flour. I don't mind about the cheapo paper bag it comes in as it's strong enough to hold the contents & I always transfer flour, sugar etc into a lock & lock which ensures no mites get ...  Read the complete review

In our kitchen, I have a cupboard dedicated to baking. It's not that I am the world's greatest baker, but I do dabble from time to time, making little buns or sauces etc. and I always make sure I have a ready supplyl of both plain and self raising flour. Although my husband is a bit of a brand snob, I am not, so am always prepared to try out the Tesco value range on a product - some have been great, others terrible. One which has been great and which is always in my baking cupboard is the Tesco value plain flour, costing a very reasonable 43p for a 1.5kg bag. Like most of the Tesco value range, the packaging is not particularly attractive. This bag of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Flour: Why not try this my flour? (240 words)

When it comes to flour, I just don't understand why you would pay more; if we were talking about flowers, on the other hand then it would be a different story! This 1.5kg bag from Tesco will set you back 43p and you can also buy a self raising version for the same price. The flour is contained in a paper bag like most flours are and once the top is opened it's quite hard to keep it fresh. I tend to pop mine in a lunch box to keep it fresh and to stop those little creatures getting inside the bag and snacking on it! The flour is quite fine and white in colour with a few brown bits here and there which tend to be too big to go through a sieve so to me ...  Read the complete review
