Advantages: cheap, easy to cook, light to carry, do not take up much storage space

Disadvantages: not very colourful nutritionally

These are great for people like students who are living on a strict budget, because they literally cost pennies, are easy to make, taste pretty good and tend to fill you up to some extent. I am not a fan of eating noodles as a staple because frankly they are very nasic nutritionally (there's not really anything in them), but certainly as a bulking food, they definately are a good choice.

The Tesco noodles are quite simple to prepare. You pour 200ml of boiling water into a bowl, you stir in the contents of the little sachet of flavoring that is provided, and you break up the chunk of noodles into four pieces, which you then place in the bowl of water. Pop this in the microwave for a few minutes (2 or 3? - check out the packet) and voila, you have noodles! I like to mix the noodles into the juice at the bottom a bit when they come out of the microwave, as I find that often there are still one of two hard noodles lurking in the packet.

As far as the flavour is concerned, yes, it's quite nice. I wouldn;t say it's overly like chicken, it's quite tangy and salty, but it's definately quite nice and beats eating plain noodles. Chicken is of course not the only flavour that Tesco do, I have also tried a prawn flavour, though I didn't find this as nice.

They are light and easy to carry, unlike tins of value food, which may proove uncomfortable to lug back home on public transport, so when you're really hungry and need a filling snack, it's worth having a pile of these in the cupbaord. 2-3 minutes later, you have a tasty, simple meal.

Summary: these are excellent, as long as you don't decide to live off them to save food money.
