With a Tesco near us now, I am now able to sample the delights found in their product range. In their biscuit range, you will find a packet of their Tesco Value Jaffa Cakes.

Jaffa cakes are round in shape and fit neatly in the palm of your hand. On the bottom is a sponge layer, with chocolate on the top and a layer of jelly in the middle. It smells of chocolate but only mildly.

When you bite into the cake, your teeth go right through the three layers. The thin chocolate layer as a very mild and sweet taste. The orange jelly is very sticky and is quite zesty too. As for the sponge - it's a little tougher than I had hoped, unlike the soft McVities version, and has a fairly plain but sweet taste to it. Combined, it is a gorgeous little biscuit.

These have around 40 calories each, and under 1g fat, so there really is not much to complain about! It was a while since I bought them so I cannot remember the exact price, but I do know it was around 40p - a bargain and a half!

These are good, but do seem smaller than teh branded ones. Good thing really, as hubby scoffs the whole packet in one go LOL

They sound a bit like the Co-op ones which are 69p, so this is a bargain.
