I love lasagne and always make own from scratch, after all ready meals and ones from the supermarkets etc... are expensive and taste pretty crap. I see nothing wrong with buying the cheapest I can get when it comes to grocery items including pasta and always buy the Tesco value lasagne sheets now. They cost an amazing 35p for a pack of 12 sheets and taste fantastic in a home made supper. Why you would want to pay over double the price for a branded type of lasagne sheet when you can have these is anyone's guess! Being bargain bucket cheap you might think this pasta is full of nasties and strange ingredients to pad it out, but no, the only ... Read the complete review

I have recently taken to trying to prepare more food from scratch at home, rather than just going to the freezer out of laziness! I am note exactly a culinary expert in the kitchen, but if you don't try and you'll never get anywhere. One of my favourite evening meals is lasagne so this was one of my first meals to attempt from scratch for both health and cost reasons. I trotted off to Tescos to collect the ingredients needed for my lasagne. Obviously a key ingredient to this dish is the pasta sheets. There were a few varieties on the shelves but for cost reasons I opted for the Tesco Value version. On the shelves I have to admit they looked rather ... Read the complete review

Currently, at Tesco, a packet of these lasagne sheets cost 30p! This is amazing. It is not a junk product either, having a very simple ingredients list: Durum Wheat Semolina Each packet has around 10 sheets and weighs 250g. They come in a very plain 'value' cardboard box with a cellophane window in the front which shows the product through. You can see that the sheets are a pale yellow colour and are not wholemeal. Generally, I like to use wholemeal products but the vegan lasagnes I create are choc full of roughage and vegetable protiens - so I think the lack of wheatgerm in these sheets is not too much of a disaster. However, if ... Read the complete review

Since I got married and had to learn to cook for both my husband and I, I have been using these Tesco value lasagne sheets every time I make lasagne. This 250g pack of lasagne sheets from the Tesco Value range, currently cost 32p. On the reverse of the pack, Tesco states that these are 'dried lasagne pasta sheets made from durum wheat semonlina'. It also claims that there is no need to pre cook these Tesco lasagne sheets, and rather they can be used straight from the packet. Although it does note, that pre cooking is possible and can be done with these sheets. These lasagne sheets are also siad by Tesco to be suitable for vegetarians and have ... Read the complete review

I have bought Tesco Value Lasagne Sheets on a number of occasions over the past couple of years, and I have found that they are as good as more expensive brands. They currently cost only 30 pence for a box containing 250g of dried lasagne sheets. I have found that one box is enough to make two fairly large lasagnes, so it lasts a while. The box is the usual Tesco Value plain packaging, in white, blue and red. The cardboard can be recycled. The lasagne sheets contain wheat, are suitable for vegetarians and cannot be guaranteed to be nut free. They can be used dry, without cooking first, though the back of the pack does give information about how to cook them ... Read the complete review
