Advantages: Very Cheap, Well Packaged, Decent Chocolate

Disadvantages: Dry, Salty Biscuit

I've been impressed with a few of the biscuits from the Tesco Value Range, so naturally I decided I should give these ones a go as well, as a cheap alternative to the more expensive biscuit bars like Kit Kats and Fox's. A packet of 18 Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestive Bars will set you back just £1.03 which is a very cheap 6p per bar.

Opening up the multipack you'll find a selection of sizeable little individually wrapped chocolate biscuit bars. They're about the size of a standard Fox's biscuit bar such as a Triple bar. The wrappers are quite thin but sturdy enough to withstand being left in the bottom of a lunchbox or bag all day without splitting or falling open.

At first look, these are tempting little things. There's a generous layer of good looking milk chocolate which you bite into to reveal a thick, crumbly digestive biscuit bar. The milk chocolate coating isn't the best quality, but then what do you expect for 6p a bar?! It's acceptable though, and it serves to add a good dose of moisture to the rather dry digestive filling. In fact my only gripe about these is that the filling is that little bit too dry.

I wouldn't buy these again as I didn't find them terribly satisfying. But if you're actually quite fond of drier biscuits, then you might find these suitable for your tastes. The other thing I did notice was that there was a slightly salty after taste to these, and that again put me off a bit as I'm more of a sugar fan myself.

I personally have to say I don't recommend these, but for the price they might be worth giving a go if you're on a budget and a fan of dry, savoury biscuits over sweeter choices.
