Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Bland, rubbery and tastes of cardboard

I usually like to give Noah something as well as his cereal in the morning because he is becoming very hungry lately. I get sick and tired of giving him toast so I try to mix it up a bit so I offer him crumpets and pancakes too. I picked these pancakes up whilst in Tesco's the other day. I have tried most of the supermarket brands and wondered how these would live up to the others.

These cost me 28p for six pancakes which is around the same price as Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. They come in a see through wrapper and they are resting on a piece of card which gives all of the product details.

The pancakes are about he size of the palm of a hand and are a yellowy, brown colour. They are about ½ a centimeter thick and if you look closely you can see little air holes here and there.

I have to say that these pancakes aren't the best that I've tasted. They are quite rubbery and bland compared to the Sainsbury's ones. They have a sweetness to them but it's definitely not over whelming. I found that they were quite crumbly as well and made a fair bit of mess. I also found that I could taste cardboard on the last two that had been laid on it which was a little unpleasant.

These don't last very long once they are opened and need to be eaten within two days. Thankfully we are great big pigs in our house so they are gone by then but it could be a problem for someone who lives on their own.

I like to eat these straight from wrapper because they are quite a filling snack that satisfies my sweet tooth. They can be heated under a grill or in a toaster which is what I do for Noah.

We are quite boring in our house in that we spread a little layer of butter over the top and sometimes I add jam but you can go all out and add maple syrup and cream or even melted chocolate.

I probably wouldn't buy these again and if you are tempted to pick them up then I would recommend that you go to Sainsburys and try theirs instead.

Summary: I wouldn't bother!

Nothing compares to M&S pancakes! (Apart from home made of course)

They're not bad but like you say extremely bland.
