They loved it each one in turn asking me what sauce it was, saying they were going to ue from then on and we kept coming up with different recipies on how to cook with (quite sad for someones 21st bday weekend) but the proof is in the blind testing. Since getting back i haven't used any different sauce neither has anyone els...more

Premium Review Tesco Value Pasta Sauce: A basic pasta sauce (405 words)

One of the quickest and easiest meals you can make in a hurry has to be pasta smothered in a tomato based sauce, and there is by no means a shortage of varieties available on the market. I am definitely a big of pasta and pasta bakes and frequently buy Dolmio or Homepride as they are guaranteed to provide a quality and tasty meal option. As many people have, since the credit crunch has taken hold on my finances, I have started to venture into the cheaper and value branded items from the shops and therefore thought I'd try the Tesco Value Pasta Sauce to mixed reviews. The sauce itself is a basic tomato pasta sauce with mixed herbs thrown in for ...  Read the complete review

When it comes to eating pasta I can't get enough of the stuff! I get through literally tons of it a week and use it in many different ways. I'm always on the look out for new ways of perking it up cos I find it a bit boring and bland on it's own and I always try and make economical purchases too to try and keep my spending down on my food which is why I thought I'd give this a go when I saw it's tiny price of 36p compared to leading brands in the store priced at well over a pound a time! The Packaging.... 440g glass see-through jar with a twist on/off lid/cap to the top of it. The label to the front has a photograph of the pasta on it and then in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Pasta Sauce: Oh Saucy (296 words)

I remember buying a jar of this once quite a few years ago and making a pasta bake out of it. The person with whom I ate the said meal complimented me on its tastiness then once they had seen the Tesco Value jar, turned their nose up and slated the meal! Label snob! Now I do not have to deal with label snobbery anymore, today I decided to give it another bash. Tesco Value Pasta Sauce is a tomato based pasta sauce with mixed herbs. It comes in a clear glass jar with 440g of content at a price of 36p. I cooked up minced beef, mushrooms, onions and green peppers and then added a jar of this sauce for the last 5 minutes, as per the instructions. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A pretty nice pasta sauce at a pretty nice price! (369 words)

I, like most people at present, am trying to save myself pennies wherever possible and this is one of the products that I have recently tried in this bid. The sauce is provided in a glass jar with a very basic white, blue & red label which has the cooking instructions and the nutritional information. The sauce is a tomato based sauce with added herbs and there is no mistaking that the majority of this sauce is made up of tomato puree and water as it does taste almost like the base of a pizza with some herbs added. I can taste the tomatoes and the herbs and the whole thing has quite a gentle taste without being too much. It is a fairly basic ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Pasta Sauce: Value sauce - it's cheap (339 words)

Pasta is usually a cheap and easy meal and now with the tesco value pasta sauce, it's even cheaper and easier only taking 5 minutes over the hob to prepare. I love pasta especially on one of those days where you really don't want to cook a big fancy meal. I was doing my normal tesco shop last week and was looking at the pasta sauces and noticed the value sauce on the bottom shelf and like with many other tesco value products I thought I'd give it a try. The first dish I had was very simple pasta with this sauce, I have to admit it wasn't my favorite pasta sauce it seemed a little sticky but I did use it again and added some semi-skimmed milk and tomato ...  Read the complete review
