... eating them directly I find they excellent to crush up and use as a base when I'm making a cheesecake, particularly a chocolate one as you then also get a chocolate flavoured base as well. The packaging is the standard plain white wrapper with basic product information on it. They only have a thin layer of plain chocolate on top which has a rippled effect and there is little taste from it, the digestive biscuit is quite sweet tasting and the biscuit is a little crumbly and reaks easily when you bite into it. Premium Review Tesco Value Plain Chocolate Digestives: Great Tasting Budget Chocolate Biscuits (400 words)

Tesco do milk chocolate and plain chocolate coated digestives in their Value range of biscuits. The dark chocolate ones are my favourite. For 39p you get a packet containing 24 biscuits. There is nothing fancy about the packaging but there really is no need for there to be. The packet is made from that plastic like stuff that is impossible to get into without scissors, or a knife, but Tesco has thought of that. There is a red strand running around the top of the packet and pulling this opens it for you. The trouble is that three biscuits fall out as soon as you open the tube. These three biscuits just have to be eaten immediately. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review These were plain easy to digest! (285 words)

As you probably know by now, I love chocolate but I especially love plain chocolate. I found these lurking on the shelves at Tesco's and couldn't resist picking them up for our munch on the weekend. They cost me 44p for a packet and I would say there were around 25 biscuits in the pack which I ate all to myself but we won't talk about that!!! The biscuits themselves are tanned in colour and have a thin layer of plain chocolate over the top. They are around the same size as the Mcvities equivalent as I compared them in the shop! I found the biscuits were quite nice; the digestive was crumbly and 'malty' and the chocolate, although cheap, was quite ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Plain Chocolate Digestives: MADE MY TRUFFLES YUMMY! (354 words)

I like the odd Biscuit, and Chocolate digestives are pretty good. I bought these to mix in with the Chocolate Truffles i've just made, as although the recipe calls just for Digestives, I like to mix half and half Plain and Chocolate as it makes the Truffles more yummy. Here is my recipe in case you want to make them yourself 400g Digestives 200g Margerine 170g Consensed Milk 2 tablespoons cocoa Chocolate strands. Bash up Digestives (I put mine in a food bag and keep pressing down with a wooden spoon. Put in a large bowl, stir in the cocoa, melt the Marg, then add Condensed milk and heat up a little, mix straight into the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives - bargain for 33p (510 words)

Tesco Value Milk Chocolate Digestives ***The Product*** Biscuits are not something we are really big on in our house (Rocky biscuits being an exception) ; we are more crisp type of people. However, I do enjoy a biscuit with my cuppa and the children like one also. They are not quite so fussy about brands and so I decided to give these a try, after all it would only be 33p wasted! The biscuits come in the usual classy packaging (not!), white with a nice value label stuck on them. I always feel like sneaking through the checkout quickly when I have a few of these items in the basket, I feel like the checkout assistant is looking down ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Plain Chocolate Digestives: The Credit Crunch Munch (388 words)

I love a chocolate digestive with my cup of tea and usually stick with McVities in order to carry out the task. I must have consumed a few container loads so far in my life time. Recently however I decided to depart with tradition and dare to give the Tesco Value range a try. I knew straight away that it would be a gamble. With Tesco value range products I always find that you never quite know what you're going to get: it's like entering a lucky dip or receiving a trick or treat. Sometimes you get a mild imitation or slightly better replica of a more expensive brand. On other occasions it means an extra trip to the compost bin. Tesco Value Plain Chocolate Digestives are ...  Read the complete review
