Advantages: very cheap, tasty, good-tasting crisps
Disadvantages: bit smaller than others & value packaging
Over the past few months I've been making a determined effort to cut down on my shopping bills so have been sampling some of the Tesco Value range in order to save a bit.
My opinion varies over these products but I must say I'm pleased with their crisps.
Tesco sell a pack of 26 small bags in different flavours for just £1.65 & a pack of 12 ready salted for only 46p & for this low price I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.
The bags display the value packaging & look a bit smaller than more expensive ones - each one is 18g.
They are suitable for vegetarians, allergy advice, nutritional information & ingredients are clearly marked on the reverse as is the Tesco promise & storage instructions.
The crisps themselves are well sealed in their little bags & were very crisp, not too salty & didn't leave greasy fingers after consumption.
I think that they're smaller than better-known brands but the taste is really good & much better than I'd expected. If you put these in bowls to serve I'm sure no one would guess how little they cost.
With some crisps I've found they leave an after-taste but I didn't experience this with these ones.
I've also used them broken up on top of a savoury crumble before popping in the oven & was pleased to obtain similar results whilst saving money!
If you eat a lot of crisps & don't mind the value packaging I'd recommend giving these a try.
Summary: def. worth a try
