Advantages: Cheap price, simple packaging, nice and crunchy, well salted.

Disadvantages: None

Crisps are one area that I normally will not scrimp on purchases, however, I saw these at my other halfs house and thought I'd give them a try.

The packaging is extremely simple, it's white with a blue banner in the middle stating that there are ready salted crisps which contain no artificial flavours, colours or MSG and it bears the familiar Tesco Value logo as well as the nutritional information all on the front of the page.

Upon opening the bag I can feel that these are salted crisps straight away and they feel a tad greasy. The potato is nice and crunchy and there is a good covering of salt on them without being too overpowering. I scarcely eat ready salted (too many other gorgeous flavours in the world!) and I use ready salted crisps for putting on the top of a tuna pasta bake before I top with cheese and then place under a grill. These crisps are perfect for this purpose and the taste removes salty and the bite lovely and crispy even after I've grilled them where some other crisps often go soggy and are not very pleasant.

There are 95 calories, 6.0g of fat (0.7g saturates) & 0.3g of salt and whilst the pack size is only 18g I do think that this is fairly average for crisps and it's great that the salt level is still kept low (5% of GDA).

These crisps are available in a variety value pack of 26 packs for £1.65.

I will definitely be buying these crisps again and if you are looking for a cheap party snack or just something to use as I do on a pasta bake then give these a go. However, if you want them for eating as they are it might be better to go with a more premium brand as the crisp size is fairly small & Walkers are slightly crunchier and more flavoursome.

I am rating these crisps 4/5 as they are incredibly cheap & great for the purpose that I use them for.

Summary: A great priced basic crisp.
