Advantages: Cheap and cheerful

Disadvantages: Don't dunk very well, nearly bland

Rich Tea biscuits are among my favourites. When I first started drinking tea, I used to love dunking a rich tea biscuit in it to get that soggy feeling with the taste of Rich Tea biscuits and tea mixed together. Now, I eat Rich Tea bsicuits with or without a cup of tea, but still revert back to the dunking whenever I can.

For me, a good Rich Tea biscuit is one that just doesn't fall apart, and while I would not expect a great deal of flavour from a biscuit which is specifically designed to have little flavour other than just biscuit, there are limits to how bland you can get before it's just not nice.

And the Tesco Value Rich Tea biscuits do come dangerously close to being too bland to warrant wasting on a good cup of tea. I do have them, but to get the Rich Tea dunking experience I so crave from time to time, I need to have a few biscuits, as the flavour is rather lacking.

However, it is very true that you get what you pay for, and in times when finances aren't as great as they have been, personally and throughout the country, I guess I could do worse. A 300g pack of these biscuits sets you back 25p or so, whereas the same amount from the McVities range is at the 70p mark, so that's a considerable difference. Yes, I am disappointed by the quality of the biscuit, but when you put everything together, including the price, it's not that bad.

Summary: Sitting on the fence. Good price, definitely noticeable drop in quality of biscuit

Rich tea are the best dunkers, even if they are quite bland :)
