Advantages: delicious when dipped, good strength, cheap
Disadvantages: tastes of coffee?
Right now I have a cup of tea right beside me (as usual!) and what I could do with most is a nice great big pile of biscuits to accompany it! Unfortunately there are none in the house at the moment, which is a disappointment! What I crave the most is a rich tea biscuit. We'd bought a packet from the Tesco Value range last week, and when there was still about half a packet left I reached for them in the cupboard and the whole lot fell onto the floor, broken in tiny little pieces. Oh great! They were so delicious, so tasty...
You can recognise the Tesco Value rich teas as they come in a white and blue packet, as do the rest of their range. On the front there is an image of the pictures, to lure you closer if nothing else! They look incredibly tasty, and have an equally satisfying price tag to match! I paid just 30p for my packet of biscuits, which contained around fifteen-eighteen, which was a really reasonable price! I paid for them and off I went.
Now I was used to McVities rich teas so I didn't know what to expect with these. I sat down with three by my side, accompanied by a cup of tea. The biscuits looked quite plain and pasty, though for a rich tea I wasn't expecting an image fit for a Queen! Giving them a sniff, there wasn't really an aroma there at all, which is a little disappointing. In my hand they felt quite dry, but I hoped they would be alittle more promising to taste.
I nibbled gently at the side of the round biscuit. Yes, it was quite dry. And what was this? A taste of coffee! How ironic! I doubt it was meant to taste like coffee, but that was the flavour that came through! I decided to make it a little more moist so I dunked it into my cup of tea. Straight away it softened up. It didnt go too soggy, but at the same time became quite soft and more edible. It tasted more like tea now, fantastic! I definitely choose to eat it this way all the time now, rather that plain and dry!
So how 'healthy' are they? Well each biscuit contains 35 calories and 1.2g fat. That really isnt bad for a biscuit at all! Though only problem now is wil power. If you lack will power you may just eat the whole packet at once, so try and savour them!
Each biscuit is delicious and worth the money, theyre great for wrapping in foil and popping in a lunch box. Whenever you next fancy a biscuit, dont bother splashing out for a more pricey Mcvitie, have a Tesco!
