Advantages: Taste scrummy
Disadvantages: none
I fancied doing something a little creative with Noah a few weeks a go and since we don' tend to do much cooking together I decided that, that is what we shall do (if you can call it that!). I decided to buy some rich tea biscuits and ice them.
The biscuits cost 23p per pack and are of course only available from Tesco's. Inside the pack there are around 20 biscuits that are circular in shape and have the words 'rich tea' written on them.
On opening the packet I wouldn't say that a strong flavour hits you in between the eyeballs, in fact I would go so far as to say they are rather bland. Even when you put them to your nose they don't have a overwhelming smell.
The biscuits have a nice crunchy texture and taste very sweet but remain quite bland considering it's a biscuit. Despite this they are really nice and there is something rather compelling about them; once you start eating them you just can't stop.
I can't comment on the 'dunking' side of things because I don't drink tea or coffee but I can say that they are definitely as tasty as the leading brand.
As far as our iced biscuits went, they did the job they needed to and they turned out to be absolutely brilliant. I also bought some chocolate which we melted and drizzled over some of them. That was more for my benefit than anyone elses because I prefer chocolate over icing sugar!
I would definitely recommend these and would never pay for the Mcvities variety again!
Summary: A great biscuit for all your biscuit needs!
