Advantages: cheap, and all peanuts are the same

Disadvantages: none

As we all know those who have read my reviews I am quite into nuts (or should I say I am nuts - not sure).

Anyway also on my Tesco brand mission, I thought it was about time I reviewed their Tesco Value Roasted Salted Peanuts.

Their value peanuts come in the usual white and blue packaging and come in a 200g bag and cost 21p (what a bargain compared to KP or similar brands).
I am not sure if they do a larger sized bag (they do not do them in my Tesco).

On the front of the bag is the Tesco Value logo in the corner a blue strip saying Roasted Salted Peanuts, a picture of a bowl of peanuts with the Nutritional value at the bottom of the pack.

On the back of the pack is various cautions e.g Allergy advice - Caution for small children and Suitable for vegetarians (I have to say these are the first things they mention on the back of the pack which I think is quite good).
There is the Nutional Advice (100g = 600kcal - 1.1g sugar - 12.9g fat - 2.2g saturates - 0.2g salt) and Storage instructions along with Tesco contact details and where produced (Netherlands if anyone is interested).

I would also like to mention that looking at the ingredients the only oil that is used is vegetable oil and sunflower oil which are both great sources of fat. Also peanuts contain Polyunsaturates and Mono-unsaturates (which are both good fats for your body to have).

Anyway so last night me and my partner were eating them in bed and I have to say I could not taste the difference between a KP nut and a Tesco Value (hell a peanut is a peanut at the end of the day - all come from the same tree).
Although they are Salted Peanuts they were not overly salty but had enough so you could taste, great for me anyway (and my partner really liked them, and in previous reviews I have mentioned what a food value snob he is).

I think these are definitely worth a try, and I have now made them a regular on my shopping list.

My last little say on the matter is if I put them in a bowl and nobody had seen the packaging (no one would be able to tell the difference).

Summary: Why pay KP prices when you can pay 21p
