The peach slices come in light syrup, sadly there isn't an option of peach slices in fruit juice which is slightly better for the waistline than light syrup. I found that all of the peach slices were of good quality and didn't contain any stones or skin. They came in different shapes and sizes - some long, some short, some fat, some thin - but they were all substantial and all tasted good so I didn't mind. The peach slices appeared orange, ...more

Premium Review Tesco Value Sliced Peaches in Light Syrup: Just love these peaches (358 words)

As a family we are always on the look out for food that offers good value. For this reason we often try different products in the Tesco Value Range. One item we bought recently was a tin of Tesco Value Sliced Peaches in light syrup. The net weight is 410g and the drained weight is 250g. It comes in a tin with some sliced peaches on the front, and with the Tesco Value logo in the corner. The Experience We usually have our tinned fruit with ice cream or cream, so it involves removing most of the light syrup. The tin is usually not enough for our family and we usually add another tin of something else. However on this occasion the children ...  Read the complete review

Review of Tesco Value Sliced Peaches in Light Syrup The Tesco Value range of budget priced products is well known, some items are excellent, others are not so good. The Value range Sliced Peaches in light syrup falls into the former category. The value range consists of everyday items at low prices. The products are packaged simply and marketed as basic essentials. The range is instantly recognisable with it's mainly white packaging with the Tesco logo and product description in blue and red. The Product Value Peaches come in a recyclable steel can, the can does not have a ring pull opener, so a standard tin opener will be required!. The ...  Read the complete review

I feel that Tesco are doing well if they can offer us a 410g can of sliced peaches for the princely sum of 28p. If we look around the shelves and compare prices the brand named tinned peaches are far more expensive. Del Monte have a 410g can of sunripe peaches in juice on offer at a staggering £1.07p. For that price I would want an airline ticket thrown in and I would go and harvest my own sunripe peaches! There is the old argument that you get what you pay for and that is a very valid point, if you are serving the peaches to Royal relatives or feel the need to impress friends or neighbours then Del Monte is the only way forward! In essence I suppose the ...  Read the complete review

"TESCO Value Sliced Peaches in Light Syrup" are a convenient and economic way to add variety to your '5 a day' portions of fruit and vegetables, and they are to be found next to the standard quality peaches in the tinned fruit section of most Tesco stores. The purpose of my review is to compare this 'value' product with its equivalent from the standard range, i.e. "TESCO Sliced Peaches in Light Syrup", which I evaluated previously. ~ Packaging ~ The 'value' sliced peaches come in a standard tin can. The label is very basic and is predominately white with text and images in royal blue and pillar-box red; this ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Sliced Peaches in Light Syrup: Just peachy (482 words)

I recently made a visit to Tesco and was looking for something healthier than usual to snack on (anything other than chocolate!). I approached the tinned fruit aisle and came across some tins of Tesco Value sliced peaches in light syrup for 27p each. I don't usually 'do' supermarket brands as I'm sceptical of the quality but I decided to pick up a couple of tins as I figured you can't really go wrong with peach slices, especially at that price. Other brands of same sized peach slices in Tesco range from 45p to 64p, so I made a nice little saving. The peach slices come in a rather boring and unattractive 410g tin (250g drained weight) - white, with ...  Read the complete review
