Again, you can find richer tasting cheesecake filling out there, but for an individual dessert at such a cheap price, it's got to be considered an excellent tasting cheesecake. Here's the ingredients list for you all... Strawberries (19%), Digestive Crumb (17%) (Wheat Flour, Sugar, Vegetable Oil and Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Invert Sugar Syrup, Dried Skimmed Milk, Raising Agents (Sodium Bicarbonate, Ammo...more

Premium Review Tesco Value Strawberry Cheesecake: Disappointing and tasteless. (409 words)

Recently, on a shopping trip to Tesco, I bought Tesco cheesecake at a bargain price. I did not have expectations of this being a tasty, scrumptious cheesecake. Generally, i am a huge fan of Waitrose Summer fruit cheesecake which is pricey ( costs around £4) but delicious . Tesco value cheesecake is a classic vanilla flavoured cheesecake on digestive biscuit, topped with a strawberry compote. It is only available from Tesco and costs 42p . Ingredients: Soft Cheese Filling contains: Medium Fat Soft Cheese, Quark Skimmed Milk Soft Cheese, Water, Sugar, Dextrose, Vegetable Oil, Whey Protein Concentrate, Stabiliser (Mono- and Di-Glycerides of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not so cheesey! (566 words)

It is known for me to be partial to a yoghurt or two, and when I was doing my latest browsing in the aisle at Tesco to see if I could spot any new products, my eye landed on something else. It was not a yoghurt itself, but situated in the fridge alongside the Mullers was a cardboard crate of Tesco Value strawberry cheesecakes. I adore cheesecake but it is something I eat almost never as it would be a waste to buy and defrost an entire cheesecake for the sake of a slice. I decided this little pot would be perfect for just me and added it to the yoghurts that also made their way into the basket, eager to try this new find. Brand: Tesco value Packaging: ...  Read the complete review

***Tesco Value Stawberry Cheesecake*** I decided to buy this as I love cheesecake, but no one else in my household does. I knew it would probably not be as good as a full size version, but at least I could have a taste of it from time to time. ***What's it like*** It is part of the value range at Tesco and so has the blue and white cheap looking packaging and has the notable VALUE logo. It's shelf life wasn't too long, but that is probably unlucky on my part. It is in a cheap looking plastic tub and has three layers of a type of strawberry gel on top, a soft cheese layer and of course a biscuit base. Calories wise it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not that cheap, and certainly not very cheerful (357 words)

I'm generally a big fan of Value options, in my experience you're getting 90% of the quality for 50% (or less) of the cost. However, there are definitely some types of food where i don't think this applies. I purchased the Tesco Value Strawberry Cheesecake more out of curiosity than anything else, and my expectations were not high! The cheescake comes in a 100g pot, with that oh-so-not-glamorous Value packaging. It costs 42p. Now, actually, the more i think about this, the more i realise that's not actually especially cheap; i usually buy non-Value family size blackcurrant cheescakes in Tesco for a quid (frozen, admittedly) and those are much bigger than two ...  Read the complete review

Who says Tesco Value food isn't up to scratch? Well on the contrary my dear Watson...here's a small dessert that is second to none - their individual strawberry cheesecake. Found in the yoghurts section of your local Tesco, these 100 gram pots cost around the 40p mark. They may not look the most appealing of desserts - in a clear plastic pot with a foil lid with the words Tesco Value inscribed on it. Hardly a great advertisment, but fear not, once you try them then you'll keep going back for more. The strawberry topping is absolutely delicious - sweet, thick and tastes like genuine strawberries rather than some artifical nonsense. The base is a ...  Read the complete review
