I have always been a big fan of jelly and even more so when I discovered how to make alcoholic versions! I saw the Tesco Value Jelly for a very pocket attractive 7p, seven pence I say....I had to try it! Each packet has 12 little cubes of jelly, the same as you would get with most jellies out there, so I must emphasise that seven pence is really good value! This strawberry was easy to prepare and as it come in 12 cubes, dissolving them is made quite easy. Add hot water and then dissolved add cold water and then place into a container and then into the fridge to set. Its that simple. I found the easiness to prepare, exactly the same as any other ... Being on a small crusade to find foodstuffs as cheaply as possible that we may eat in a time of financial crisis, I did a tediously long search on the teaco website by just inputting the work "Value". 680 Teco Value products came up and I used the items from this section as the basis of my online shop. (good money saving tip there!). Tesco Value jelly was one of the products I bought. You pay 7p for a normal sized normal looking block of jelly (the actual cubes you have to tear off and mix with half a pint of boiling water and half a pint of cold water). Fantastic value. I decided to make up a pack of this into jelly to test how it ... Read the complete review

It's my granddaughter's 13th birthday tomorrow so I have spent much of tonight preparing little individual trifles for her party. She refused the offer of a limo and bowling and asked for a fairly low key affair with a good buffet such as we experienced at a very posh wedding recently. Well, you're only 13 once so her mum and I have spent a fortune on posh food for this party and have also offered ourselves as cooks for various desserts and canapés. The jelly base of the trifle, however, was as cheap as chips at just 7p a packet. It's the 'proper' jelly too, a slab of red jelly cubes ready for dissolving in water - not the granules that are so popular these ... Read the complete review

I like to do the odd bit of cooking with Noah; I'm trying to get him trained up early so he doesn't end up as useless in the kitchen as my hubby! Sorry Andrew! Jelly is one of those things that is very easy to do and Noah thoroughly enjoys putting it together. This strawberry one cost me just 8p from Tesco and it's divided into 12 squares surrounded by a plastic wrapper. This jelly is relatively easy to make in that you break up the cubes, add ˝ pint of boiling water, stir until the cubes have dissolved then add another ˝ pint of cold water. When the whole thing has cooled down then you can pop it in the fridge to 'set' before eating ... Read the complete review

I seem to be making a habit of writing reviews on 8p value products from Tesco's but here's another one anyway! Yes you guessed it. This Jelly cost me just 8p on my recent visit to Tesco. I've been buying it for over a year and have never paid more than 9p for a pack and sometimes have only needed to part with 6p so it seems to be consistently cheap. The reason I buy this Jelly is actually as part of an attempt to lose weight. It's brilliant for giving you that sweet sugary fix on an evening without leaving you feeling guilty or still hungry. Jelly is quite filling and a servings, which an adult will need, is the same number of calories as a bowl ... Read the complete review
