When I was at Tesco I noticed they had a varied selection of swiss rolls. There was three different chocolate options as well as a few raspberry ones. Now I do often choose fruit flavours over chocolate, but then it comes to swiss roll, chocolate swiss roll is the only way to go! When I noticed they had a Tesco Value option, Ijust had to check it out. The swiss roll is quite short and comes in a clear packet with red writing. The Tesco Value logo is clearly printed on it so it can be easily found if scanning for cheap items. You can see through to the swiss roll and it looks a gorgeous chocolate brown. You can also see some of the fresh white cream inside too. ...  Read the complete review

When I was shopping in Tesco the other week I saw this chocolate swiss roll for just 13p. I usually prefer to buy jam swiss rolls but because of the price I was tempted to try this. I am a big fan of chocolate cake so thought I had nothing to lose by trying this. I'm not sure how much it weighs as I have thrown away the packaging but the cake is about 5 inches long and about 2 and a half inches wide. The packaging is mostly clear with the Tesco value logo on it, this meant you could see the product inside easily. When I took the roll out of the packet I noticed that the cake was a rich brown colour and looked very nice. It looked a lot like more expensive ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Swiss Roll: Roll around and into my mouth (530 words)

I went to visit my Mum today, and whenever we go, a Swiss roll always comes out with the cups of tea. Until today I never realised she was serving us Tesco Value Swiss roll. That makes me sound like a snob but I'm far from it, as you will know from reading my reviews. I don't tend to ever buy this at home because it goes so fast, but at only 13p each I might be tempted to push the boat out in the future. There are no frills about this products packaging, as there aren't with much of the value range. You can see right through the clear packaging and into the cake within. This means that straight away I can see that for my pennies I am getting a much ...  Read the complete review

Well where do I start with this fantastic cheap and very yummy treat? Tesco Value has got a reputation for being pretty good I think and this is a regular visitor for my trolley. I was looking for French Fancies last night as per my obsession with them but settled for these as I could not find them, the added bonus was I saved well over a quid buying these. Now it is extremely easy to eat one in a sitting. They are small. They are ruddy 13p what on earth do you expect???!?! Probably half is good for a serving, but if you are really craving then I'll let you eat a whole one. Packaging= Plastic with those all important easy tear side and of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Swiss Roll: Don't roll over for this one!! (319 words)

I have written several reviews on the Tesco Value range, and as a whole they have been very positive. Sadly this one falls into the categeory of awful - in my opinion. I was shopping in Tesco last week and this little beauty (or ugly) caught my eye. Surely not 13p for a Chocolate Swiss Roll. It must be a mistake. Checking it on the scanner nearby, it confirmed that the price was in fcat 13p. So I threw one in my trolly and carried on with my shopping. Upon arriving home I thought I'd have a piece with my cup of tea. Good job it was actually only me having a cup, because this roll would not go far between a family of 5 - not that it advertised it ...  Read the complete review
