When I was at Tesco I noticed they had a varied selection of swiss rolls. There was three different chocolate options as well as a few raspberry ones. Now I do often choose fruit flavours over chocolate, but then it comes to swiss roll, chocolate swiss roll is the only way to go! When I noticed they had a Tesco Value option, Ijust had to check it out.

The swiss roll is quite short and comes in a clear packet with red writing. The Tesco Value logo is clearly printed on it so it can be easily found if scanning for cheap items. You can see through to the swiss roll and it looks a gorgeous chocolate brown. You can also see some of the fresh white cream inside too. It looked heavenly!

When you open the packet a faint sniff of chocolate floats out, but nothing overly strong or powerful. Cutting a slice off the scent did get stronger as the roll uncoiled slightly. Popping it into my mouth I let my taste buds run wild. The roll was so soft it was unreal! It had an amazingly sweet chocolate flavour that was simply to die for. As for the cream, well that was light and a lot more creamier and smooth than I had imagined. I couldn't have asked for a better swiss roll! Great taste and great texture, what more could I want?

Good nutrition! Unfortunately being chocolated based this was not an option though. 100g has around 380 calories, which I would say is pretty appalling! It may only be small but it is still a lot! It is definitely not something you should be eating every day, but as a treat now and again and it should be okay.

The great thing here is the price. A single swiss roll will cost you just 13p. I was amazed by the price! It can serve around twelve slices, so you're barely a penny a slice! Now that is a bargain not to be missed if you are ever near tesco.

This is a great swiss roll cake option and can covert anybody over to chocolate from raspberry! I am pleased I tried it as I love it. It is not something I would have each week because of the poor nutrition but I think I will have it now and again! Give it a try you wont be sorry.
