Advantages: Cheap tasty treat
Disadvantages: None
Well where do I start with this fantastic cheap and very yummy treat? Tesco Value has got a reputation for being pretty good I think and this is a regular visitor for my trolley. I was looking for French Fancies last night as per my obsession with them but settled for these as I could not find them, the added bonus was I saved well over a quid buying these.
Now it is extremely easy to eat one in a sitting. They are small. They are ruddy 13p what on earth do you expect???!?! Probably half is good for a serving, but if you are really craving then I'll let you eat a whole one.
Packaging=
Plastic with those all important easy tear side and of course all your facts upon the back. Allergy advice and storage information also.
Also suitable for vegetarians as stated on the back of the packet, handy to know.
Appearance=
As mentioned, it's 13p, it's small, around 80g. Chocolate flavoured sponge has been laid out flat, spread with a vanilla flavoured flavouring and rolled back up in order to create a swirl inside the chocolate sponge. Looks very nice, mine was a bit squashed as I am rubbish at packing my shopping bags preferring to throw everything willy nilly into as few bags as possible.
Taste=
Light, soft, but still a firm bite, not overly chocolatey so you will not think that it is sickly, the vanilla cream inside really does complement it well and provides a good taste. Slightly sweet sponge and just the right balance of everything. Extremely easy to just eat a whole one without getting fed up or too full, apparently a quarter of the roll is a serving size, pffft what do they know. Get it down your neck!!
Price=
As mentioned these bad boys are a measly 13p they are amazing value. I choose these sometimes when I am conscious of the fact that I do have a budget to stick to and then therefore I can treat myself to a guilt free snack knowing I've saved a lot of pennies on some of the more expensive treats that try to tempt you at Tesco. I would rather eat these than expensive ones which I find to be mostly sickly and too sweet.
