... as I thought I will reach home and then open up the pack. But I just thought otherwise and opened the pack on the way home. I was fascinated by the look and smell of the chips. The chips look like Doritos with triangular shapes and little tweak on the edges. The taste was really excellent and I was pleasantly surprised. They were crispy and not too soft. The chips were little bit on the salty side but with a price tag of 25p for 100 grams you can hardly sneeze about it. Moreover fat of 24.5 gram and saturates of arou...more

To be perfectly honest, I stumbled upon these by mistake! But I'm glad I did :) I was scouring the aisles looking for my usual choice tortilla chips, Doritos...but they had all sold out. So I picked up the own brand alternative. Tesco Value to be precise...I will admit that I am normally a bit of a food snob but I needed them! It was only 18p for a 100 gram bag so even if I didn't like them, it wasn't going to be a huge disappointment! I was pleasently surprised when I actually tasted them! The chips come in the usual cheap and not very cheerful tesco value, blue and white striped packaging! They are descibed as lightly salted ...  Read the complete review

Tesco tortilla chips sell for 25 pennies for 100 gramms, they are made with maze and sunflower oil and will add nothing less than 480 calories to your intake if you finish them on your own. I am not addicted to Tortillas and normally only buy them when we have parties at home. I normally get these because they are very good value for money and cost a fraction of more established brands like Doritos. They come in the traditional Tesco value packaging, blue, white and red. A similar product would cost in the region of 1 Pound if bought from one of the trademark brands. As far as I am concerned I normally open the bag, pour them in a bowl ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Tortilla Chips: Tesco's Tremendous Tortilla Chips - Ultimate Value at 25p! (1124 words)

**Overview** I'm more of a sweet than savoury girl but I do like the occasional snack and dip combo, my fav dip being houmous or salsa. The snack then depends if I'm being really naughty or not so naughty, really naughty = tortilla chips or sweet chilli sensations, not so naughty = celery and carrot sticks. Last year for the first time I moved away form home and lived in student accommodation, this meant money was tight and the money I did earn from work was more preferably spent on clothes or nights out, food was not a priority! Therefore supermarket trips became bargain hunting trips and I became a bit of an expert on which value brand items were good ...  Read the complete review

Tesco are fully promoting their "every little helps" campaign and it seems that there is a budget version of almost every single product. In my experience there are some things you can scrimp on, and some things you can't. The standard tortilla chips is, in my opinion, a pretty standard product and it is generally these products where the Tesco budget version is more than adequate and on par with the more premium brands. The value tortillas are available in 100g bags, and unlike many other Tesco value items, the packaging is quite tasteful and you can almost be forgiven for not realising it is a value product at first glance. The standard 'blue' ...  Read the complete review

I like Doritos a lot, I like tortilla chips which I can dip in lovely spicy sauces, but I don't like the crazy price of Dorito's, at £1 per pack they are quite pricey, well i'm going round Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys to try cheaper alternatives. This is my review of Tesco own brand Tortilla chips. Price - 25p for a 100g pack, this is pretty good value as Doritos are £1 for 225g. You can buy 4 packs for the same price and they would last you quite sometime. Packaging - Ok it looks like Tesco value with its cheap white pack with red and blue banding, but then I always thing you can't eat the bag so who cares what it looks like.
