Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: a tad dry
I love tuna but it seems to be getting more expensive by the minute. I remember when this particular can cost just 29p, now I pay 59p for 185g tin. What a difference!
When the tin is opened I often do it by the sink because the brine splashes everywhere and leaves a watery mess. My friend uses a sieve to squeeze all of the juices out of the tuna but I prefer to fully open the lid and push it down which makes most of the juice lift and pour out.
When the top is removed you are met with a nice pink fish which is divided into small chunks. I would say that the Asda version of this looks more appetizing and the chunks are a bit bigger but it doesn't really bother me.
The tuna itself tastes very fresh and has a nice 'fishy' edge to it without being too salty. The texture is rather dry but as you chew it, it flakes away and mixes with your saliva which makes it all the more digestible.
I tend to use this tuna for all sorts of things. I put it in pastas, salads and sometimes if I'm feeling naughty I will add some mayonnaise and stick it in a sandwich with some cucumber.
If you are on a budget then go for this. It may not be as tasty as the leading brand but you will be saving around 40p a tin.
Summary: I like to eat it, eat it!
