A distinctive blue and white tin, this is a slightly more expensive can of tuna that you can get from Tesco. Priced at fifty four per can in my opinion it is worth paying this small premium over it less pleasant cousin the 'tuna flakes' On opening the can (which is quite difficult as it seems they use quite thick cans) you are nasaly ... I am a tuna fan, I like eating it on jacket potatoes and on sandwiches, but I always mix it with mayonnaise, because I'm not fan of eating it plain. I am always looking for a cheaper alternative to the branded versions that are available in supermarkets. The Tesco Value Tuna Chunks are around 60p for a 185g tin (drained weight 129g), ... Tesco value products are a bit hit and miss in my opinion. Some of them are really good though and one of those is the tinned 'Tesco Value Tuna Chunks.' It costs between 50p - 60p for the 185g circular tin of tuna fish. The can is metal and is recyclable which is good as I like to do my bit for the environment. There is no ring pull ... Now i have started with my value tomatoes review, i intend to review more of the Tesco value products from now on as i buy as much as i can from the value range. I'm sure all you Credit Crunchers out there would like to save a bit of money for Christmas so start buying value tuna instead of your usual John West! I have been buying this tuna ... I am not the world's biggest fan of meat or meat dishes and therefore tend to eat a lot of fish dishes. I also like to eat fish as part of my salads (I try to take a salad to work as for my lunch when I am on my healthy kick!) and tuna is a really dish to include. As you all know now I am not afraid to try out Supermarkets own ... Read the complete review

Usually I plump for John West's or a named brand, particularly when it comes to buying fish. Tuna seems to have crept up in price in the last year or so. I think this is down to the rarity of the fish and all those problems they have with dolphins, which is pushing the price up. At present, a can of Tesco tuna comes in at just under sixty pence ... Another staple food from the Tesco Value range which is just as nice as it's more upmarket shelf-neighbours. This can be picked up for 58p (01/08/09) for a 185g tin. The benefits of this are evident in your end receipt. Other tuna can cost anything up to £2+ for a tin. Various others include exotic flavours like mexican and thai. ... Read the complete review

We eat lots of tinned tuna in our house and the very occasional fresh tuna steak (as fresh as it can be from a supermarket fishmonger in the middle of the country) and have been using Tesco Value Tuna Chunks in Brine for years. Tuna is a great source of protein which is essential for a healthy diet and lifestyle. I thrown ... Read the complete review

My family and i really like tuna we use it for cooking or making sandwich or salads .This brand of tesco value tuna chunks is really good and the reason i am saying its good is that it is very tasty and the price is really affordable and because of that we can afford to buy a bit more than we would if we were buying the other brands .The reason ... I've been a tuna fan for a while and always had tuna in my lunch in some form or other, beit mixed with pasta, straight from the tin eaten as it is or mixed with Mayo and slapped between two pieces of bread. I've tended to buy John West or Princes in the past believing they were better quality, but with Tuna prices shooting up like they seem to ... Read the complete review

I love tuna but it seems to be getting more expensive by the minute. I remember when this particular can cost just 29p, now I pay 59p for 185g tin. What a difference! When the tin is opened I often do it by the sink because the brine splashes everywhere and leaves a watery mess. My friend uses a sieve to squeeze all of the juices out of ... On the days when I want something light I usually just open a can of Value Tuna Chunks, drain it and then throw it with a salad, in a sandwich or toss it with a little pasta. This tuna comes in an aluminium can and a can opener will be required as there is no ring pull on this can. It has a paper label on it displaying the Tesco Value ... Read the complete review

I absolutely love tuna but I will admit that I am super fussy when it comes to buying it as a lot of them can be quite fishy tasting or way too dark in colour so imagine my surprise to find that my fave tuna happens to be tesco blue n white stripey value pack! I started eating alot of this tuna to pack on muscle whilst i went to the gym, the tuna contains about 25g of protein per tin and is very low in fat and carbonhydates which is great if your looking to build lean muscle, as well as its protein content it is a very healthy food for anyone to enjoy. The quality of the tuna it self is very good for ... Read the complete review

I've lost count of how many tins of this i've eaten this year. This has very little to do with taste (more on that later). As an avid gym goer, i'm always in need of extra food and a tin of Tesco Value Tuna Chunks is ideal. High in protein (around 25g) and low in just about everything else this is an ideal post workout snack that won't derail any ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Tinned Tuna I'm one for having things in the cupboard to put in sandwiches just in case I run out of other things - mostly this stems from having fibromyalgia so I can't always be certain that I'll be well enough to do the week's shopping which means having stuff laid aside that will last ages and can be used when we need ... I love tuna, I always have! Whether it is on a potato, in a sandwich, or quite frankly on its own, it is gorgeous! Quite recently, I tried Tesco Value tuna for the first time... This is the first Tesco Value product I wouldn't buy again. Not because the quality is not good but because I just prefer spring water to brine. If you don't mind the brine I can recommend the tuna chunks - the quality is good and they are a great base for many nice dishes - have a look at the end of my review for my favourite tuna ... I like Tuna, but only when it is either cooked in my Tuna pasta recpe (found on the back of Cambells soup tins), or mixed with Mayo. I don't like Tuna just in it's normal state - if that makes any sense! This tuna is part of the Tesco Value range, which is the cheapest brand in Tesco. I find a lot of their things alright, but there is ... Read the complete review
