When visiting my mam earlier this year, she had laid out a variety of foods for the children as it was my sister's birthday. There were a few different swiss roll options, including the glorious chocolate option, and the amazing fruity jam option too. I decided not to have any, but when I arrived back home I had a sudden craving for swiss roll! I went in search of some at my local Tesco store, and came across some mini swiss rolls. I decided to give them a try straight away. Brand: Tesco Value Packaging: Plastic packet with plastic tray Appearance: small, golden brown Taste: sweet, raspberry Texture: soft Price: 30p Availability: ... Read the complete review

Tesco Value Vanilla Flavour Mini Rolls are a bargain buy for the kids at just 30p for a packet of 6 rolls. They're basically mini swiss rolls that are filled with the traditional cream and jam filling you'd expect. Size wise, they are ideal for little ones, though I wouldn't say they're too small for adults - just on the smaller side of things. The sponge is relatively moist, though the outside does have a slightly firmer feel and bite to it than I personally like in my swiss rolls. I spotted these in Tesco today, and since they only cost 23p for 6 Mini Rolls then I thought they were worth a try. I found these up the Bread/Cake aisle. They were quite hard to spot, as being a bargain brand buy they were on a single row on the bottom shelf. The pack wasn't that eye catching either. These were arranged on a thin bit of plastic and wrapped in a see through plastic bag. There is a white strip on the front and it has the name and branding on the front as well. This is a Tesco Value product, so there is the Tesco value label on ... Read the complete review

Andrew came home from work the other day with a packet of these that his boss had kindly given to him after nobody ate them at the meeting he attended. They come in a plastic tray with clear plastic wrapping around them to keep them fresh. I can't remember exactly how much they cost. When you first open the packet a nice, sweet smell drifts out and always makes my mouth water. The cakes have a tanned colour to them and if you look to the side of the packet then you will see the jam and cream inside. When you pull on from its little compartment then I always find that part of the cakes skin sticks to the plastic tray but not enough to be ... Read the complete review
