Advantages: Great taste, lots of things to eat with them, very reasonable price, fairly low in cals/fat.
Disadvantages: None
Tesco Wheat Biscuits are a cheaper version of Weetabix and are packaged in a cardboard box and then within the box are packets of 12 biscuits (2 packets in the box I purchased) it's great that they are packed in a couple of 12's as this helps them to stay fresher for longer.
The biscuits are identical in appearance to Weetabix from what I can see and I put three in a bowl, covered with semi-skimmed milk & topped with a little sugar. I like to leave my wheat biscuits for just a minute or two to make sure that some of the milk has been absorbed without making the biscuits too soggy and then I devour them in just a few minutes. I did find that the taste was very nice and comparable to Weetabix. These wheat biscuits are made up of 95% whole wheat and this is really obvious from the taste. They taste lovely and natural and I don't feel like I am filling myself up on rubbish. They are very filling and can be eaten in such a vast variety of ways so I never end up getting bored of them.
Some top ways I like to eat them are with yoghurt & fresh fruit, with hot milk or just with a little yoghurt & honey. There is lots of different things to do and everybody is different so give them a try yourself.
24's are available for £1.15 or 48's for £2.15 so these are quite a bit cheaper than the branded version. I would definitely recommend buying these in place of the more expensive ones as I really could not find any difference in these wheat biscuits at all. Each serving (2 biscuits) provides 190 calories & 2.8g of fat and I think that this is very reasonable for a breakfast product.
I am rating these wheat biscuits 5/5 as they taste great, just as good as any similar product, are fairly low in fat, available for a good price and just a great breakfast.
Summary: A wheat biscuit that goes great with yoghurt or milk as part of my breakfast.

- 14/05/09 That will save me spending an excess amount on weetabix. I'm always a little wary of purchasing 'own brand' products, as you just don't know if they are going to be jut as nice - or really bad! so thanks |
