Just as good as wheatabix. Just cheaper! (Tesco Wheat Biscuits)

On my journey to finding reasonable priced supermarket own brands and value products which are just as good as branded products, just cheaper. I have come across a pig of a product in the tesco value wheat biscuits, but came across a gem in the Tesco own brand wheat biscuits.

This is a warning. Do not even bother thinking about the Tesco value wheat biscuits. You get 36 for 75p. I chucked them away after one try of them! But these ones where you can get 48 wheat biscuits for £2 or 24 for £1.15

This price is a lot less than Wheatabix and I could not taste the difference. Maybe these Tesco ones go a bit soggy quicker but that is me trying to pick a fault which isn't really there.

The biscuits them self are the same sort of size and shape. The same colour, same consistency. They don't look or feel cheap, like the value ones did which crumbled in your hands when you went to pick them up. I really couldn't see where the difference was between these and the real thing.

They come in a big yellow box, just like weatabix, with a picture of them on the front and the Tesco logo in the top hand corner. They are wrapped in stacks of 12, just like weatabix again.

Each serving, 2 biscuits, provides 190 calories and 2.8g of fat. This isn't bad for a morning breakfast as you put them with milk and if you want to fruit.

If you like wheatabix then maybe try dropping down a brand to these. I think they are just as good, just cheaper, i now buy these all the time.
