About three months ago or so I fell in love with my first ever English Muffin. I had loved the wholemeal ones but they seemed to have stopped stocking them so I had to move t white muffins, and tried the Tesco White muffins. But would they be as good?
Like the wholemeal, the muffins come in a clear packet. You can see into all six of them, and they looked quite pale. Though I thought that they would surely look a lot more appetizing once they had been cooked. So I bought them, fingers crossed.
I got home and cooked a muffin, cut in half, in the toaster. After a minute or so they poppped and thankfully indeed they had turned a more golden brown. It didnt smell of much which was a little disappointing, But I smeared on the butter and as it began to melt I took abite. I was filled with a sudden buttery sensation mixed with the gorgeous bread. It was a lot nicer than I thought, a real delight!
These are not the healthiest of options. Each muffin contains just short of 200 caliries, so if you have two for breakfast speared with butter you are looking at 500 calories before the day has bearly begun! Eaten now and again though it is not bad.
The pack costs 65p for six, so you're just over 10p for a muin. Now looking at them like that it does not seem too bad at all! Its not going to break tbe bank, unless for some reason you went through a pack a day, which could happen if you have a large family.
These are utterly gorgeous and arenicer than the wholemeal ones, and cheaper too! If you get a chance they are definitely worth a try!
