Advantages: They taste great

Disadvantages: They are addictive

Jelly beans are addictive. Not many people know that. I have been a jelly bean addict for the past seven years.

I first bought them from the handbag in Birmingham where they have the all the flavours for sale in separate containers. I started with the luscious Water melon and worked on to the sour Granny Smith flavour, Pina Colada, Strawberry, Peach and Pear. That is just for starters. There must be at least fifty flavours, and I've tried them all. I never tasted a jelly bean I did not like. The flavours are as close to the real thing as you can get without it being the real thing. You actually need to eat the fruit to get closer.

These Jelly Beans are not to be confused with the sugary treats you buy for children. These are strictly for adults. The price alone at about £2.25 for 100 gram tells you that. You have got to taste them to know that they are worth it. They come in a variety of ingenious novelty packages as well as boxes tins tubes and packets.

You can get them at all high class confectionery shops Rackhams Selfridges and Tesco so there is no need to let yourself run out.

Summary: You would need to eat fruit to get more taste
