Advantages: Good for you, natural
Disadvantages: could be more flavours
The natural confectionary company, are a company who try to create sweets using natural fruit flavours. This results in a sweet that is better for your kids (or for the big kids of the house!). They are based in the UK, but have used an old Australian recipe to create these little gems. Indeed, the recipe supposedly dates from 1941!
Bring on the trumpets!!!!!
The natural confectionary company were relatively unheard of, until they burst onto our screens with a series of hilarious tv adverts. You know the ones? Little gummy bears shouting 'bring on the trumpets', or other little sweets trying to overcome the language difference between dinosaurs and pineapples (search on youtube, typing natural confectionary company advert.). Theses adverts certainly stuck in my head, and were the main reason I sought out these sweets to try them. Gimmicks help.
Bring on the trumpets!!!!!
These were the first of their sweets that I tried. I had my doubts, as anything that is good for you, generally tastes pants. The packet is predominantly white in colour, with their logo at the top. The words 'jelly snakes', are written on the front, and there is a picture of a cartoon snake. These surround a window in the bag through which you can see the sweets inside. Also emblazoned on the front are the claims - no artificial colours, and no artificial flavours.
Bring on the trumpets!!!!!
The packets are 200g, and cost in and around £1.20 per packet. In the pack, you get around 20-25 of the sweets, but they are a good size. The smell when you open the bag is lovely. Really fruity. The flavours are orange, blackcurrant, banana, and raspberry. I think that there is scope for more of a selection, but these are fine. They do taste more fruity than normal sweets, and I put this down to them containing only real fruit juices. It is also noticeable that the ingredients list is much smaller than most sweets, and is absent of those dreaded e-numbers.
Bring on the trumpets!!!!!
The sweets are a nice consistancy, both chewy, and squashy. they do not stick in your teeth, or hurt your jaw eating them. In many ways, they seem to be too good to be true. Try as I might, I have not been able to find out anything bad to say about them. Also, they are currently on offer in Tesco for a paultry 61p! These are great for bribing the kids, as they are not bad for them, but they love them. And, I must confess that I love them too.
Bring on the trumpets!!!!!
These sweets are great. Nice to eat, and good for you. A combination that you usually fail to get in a sweet. The colours could be brighter, but then again I suppose that is because the colours used are not man made. Try them. I think you will like them!
Trumpets. HA!
Summary: Fun sweets, that aren't full of e-numbers.
