The Skinny Cow Mint Double Choc Stick

Description: Low fat lollys for minimal moolah.

Newest Review: ... But I have to say that eating one of these is like eating proper full-fat ice-cream. It's a lovely creamy consistency and I ... more

... can't taste the difference between that and other (real!) mint ice-creams. The chocolate bits that are dotted around the ice-cream are less good. They taste inoffensive enough, but I find that they leave a slightly powdery feeling in my mouth once I've chewed them. They are also slightly bitter tasting, but I think that's because they're dark chocolate (or faux chocolate). These ice creams come in packs of three and I do find that they are really overpriced. It's not unusual to pay up to £3 for a pack of three, w...more

Another sunny Mondy has passed giving me another (tenuous) excuse for ice cream! As you may be able to tell from my other review I like skinny cow ice cream and the first flavour I tried was the chocolate ones. However mint choc chip is one of my favourite flavours of ice cream (when I can find it) so when I saw that skinny cow also made mint double choc ice cream lollies I had to try them. The mint double choc ice creams are sold in boxes of three, in the packaging pretty distinctive skinny cow black and white cow print boxes, and are stocked in the dessert sections of many supermarket's freezers (although these are not as widely available as the ...  Read the complete review

I started a diet recently but I find that to really stick to a diet I need to include some kind of treat. I find that particularly after my evening meal I really crave something sweet. So I was on the look out for a low fat/low calorie dessert that would satisfy my cravings but benefit my waistline! Someone on a forum recommended these so I thought I would give them a whirl. I originally wanted to get the triple chocolate ones but since they were out of stock at Tesco when I went I got the mint chop chip ones instead (fine by me, I love mint choc chip.) The price isn't too bad but not exactly cheap - I paid £1.78 in Tesco and you get 3 ice cream lollies for ...  Read the complete review

After gaining a little weight prior to my holiday and adding a couple of pounds while away it is finally time to take control of my weight so have begin a diet. On Saturday I went shopping and hoped to find plenty of low fat snacks as I know that I don't get much time during the day but do tend to continually snack once my son is in bed. I was pleased to see on offer the skinny cow mint choc chip bars £3 for three. The box states that each stick contains 94 calories and less than 3% fat. On reading detailed nutrition it states that there is 1.8g of fat per stick so for once actually lower than advertised. Each Lolly is individually wrapped so can be ...  Read the complete review

~*~ Skinny Cow Mint Ice Creams ~*~ I have been trying to lose a few pounds that I seem to have put on recently and all has been going extremely well, but now the weather is starting to warm up at last, a terrifying new obstacle is to be overcome - ice creams! I have always loved a good lolly or five, and for some reason I don't feel like I'm adding any calories - perhaps as they melt in the mouth. So you can see how dangerous this is for my diet! Anyway, I've had my eye on the skinny cow lollies for a while, but couldn't bring myself to buy full price, but when I saw them on offer in Tesco today, and combined with a bit of gorgeous weather, I thought it was ...  Read the complete review

During our lovely hot sunny spell my whole family seemed to be eating delicious cold ice-creams, making me feel extremely jealous as I tried to maintain my diet. My husband decided to take a trip to Sainsbury's and buy me a diet version of the tasty ice creams everyone else was enjoying. He came back with The Skinny Cow mint double choc sticks. Normally I am not a fan of mint choc ice-cream but I was practically salivating watching everyone else so I eagerly opened one of the pack of three ice-creams and tucked in. They are a solid oval of ice-cream on a stick and you do get a good sized ice-cream for your money. They are very smooth and creamy, ...  Read the complete review
