Great ice-creams for dieters, but really overpriced (The Skinny Cow Mint Double Choc Stick)

Advantages: Taste great and low in calories

Disadvantages: Too expensive by far

Skinny Cow ice-cream is the greatest invention for those of us with a sweet tooth who don't want to pile on the calories. The Mint Double Choc Sticks are only 94 calories each, which is their big selling point. But I have to say that eating one of these is like eating proper full-fat ice-cream. It's a lovely creamy consistency and I can't taste the difference between that and other (real!) mint ice-creams.

The chocolate bits that are dotted around the ice-cream are less good. They taste inoffensive enough, but I find that they leave a slightly powdery feeling in my mouth once I've chewed them. They are also slightly bitter tasting, but I think that's because they're dark chocolate (or faux chocolate).

These ice creams come in packs of three and I do find that they are really overpriced. It's not unusual to pay up to £3 for a pack of three, which I think is really terrible. Not so bad if you can find them on BOGOF offer though.

All in all these are good for weight watchers to keep the cravings at bay, but I reckon you're better off calorie-wise and budget-wise with a 10-pack of Rocket lollies!
