Advantages: Delish; Wicked marzipan; Smooth dark chocolate
Disadvantages: None
I went into Thorntons yesterday to buy my mate a birthday pressie and while I was there I brought myself a few of their bars of chocolate as a change from Cadburys or Galaxy. The one I've just eaten was a yummy almond marzipan bar and I wish I'd brought 2 of them because I could eat another one right now!
The bar is a lot smaller than most chocolate bars but because it's pure marzipan inside it feels a lot bigger because of how sweet and filling the chocolate bar is.
The marzipan tastes dead fresh and is so yummy that it reminds me of when I used to buy blocks of marzipan and eat them in the cinema because I didn't like popcorn! It's loads nicer than block marzipan and is softer with a delish smooth but bitty texture that melts in my mouth a bit, but I can never leave it that long and end up chewing it to release the flavours better!
The marzipan is coated in dark chocolate and this chocolate is gorgeous. It's smooth and creamier than most dark chocolates and goes sooooooo good with the sweet marzipan, there's a bit of bitterness in the chocolate but I'm glad about that because if the chocolate was sweet then I reckon the bar would be too sickly over all.
I love how high quality this chocolate bar tastes, most marzipan chocolates are very dusty I think but this one has got a creamier texture that made my mouth water with every single bite. I reckon it's the combination of the sugary marzipan and the slightley bitter chocolate that make it seem so luxurious because there are a few marzipan bars about at the minute but none of them are quite as good or tasty as this one.
It cost about 70p and even though it's only a small bar it's worth it for the delish taste of Thorntons without having to eat a whole box of chocolates, not that that would be a problem the mood I'm in today!
Summary: I Wish I'd Brought More Than One Now!
