Yesterday I had a real fancy for something sweet. I know my blood sugar is higher than it should be and my weight is definitely an issue but it was just one of those things - I needed something sweet! I went to our local Costcutter / Post Office to take my latest batch of EBay sales to be posted and the temptation just got too much and I treated myself to a Toffee Crisp, which cost me 45p. I hadn't had one for years - would it be as good as I remembered? This will be posted on Ciao in the fullness of time. I took my naughty purchase home and decided to resist eating it until after my tea and believe me that was a real test of willpower I ... Read the complete review

Although I know chocolate is bad for me I just cant resist it, I have come to the conclusion that if I want to eat chocolate I will just have to work harder in the gym to compensate for my sins. I dont have any favorites when it comes to chocolate bars as there are just so many that I adore but toffee crisp are absolutley up there near the top of my list somewhere. Toffee crisps cost around 45p each if brought as a single bar or you can get a pack of 4 bars for around £1 from the supermarket, they are packaged in bright orange wrappers so are very hard to miss unfortunately as every time I go into our local shop they seem to jump up from the counter ... This particular chocolate bar is made by Nestle and while they are not my favourite manufacturer this is a good bar ad one that I really remember liking a lot when I was young although these days I rarely buy it. It is a combination of milk chocolate , with toffee and rice krispies in the centre . The rice crispies form the bulk of the bar and then between them and the chocolate there is a layer of rich , creamy and absolutely lovely toffee . This chocolate bar is very firm to bite into and the rice krispies give it a certain amount of crunch however the toffee layer means that it is also quite chewy. It has a super taste, it is ... Today I got the urge, I needed some chocolate, I decided to overindulge this lunch time, as add a little variety to my diet of sandwiches, so I treated myself to a little bar of choc that wouldn?t break the bank. One that simply everyone knows of? a Toffee Crisp, If you haven?t heard of them, well I guess you are simply a visitor from Mars (is there a pun there somewhere?) *PACKAGING* Attractive and bright, it?s orange coloured, with bubbled yellow writing which is shadowed in brown (to hint at Chocolate perhaps?) you simply can not miss them hidden among the other chocolate gems. The Nestlẻ logo is on the left hand side of the ... Read the complete review

Having a drink at my mates house last night she handed me a Toffee Crisp to munch my way through, so being a true Dooyoo-er I ate half of it and stuck the rest of it in my pocket in readiness for an op today. Would you believe I'm 28 years old and have never (as far as I can remember) eaten a Toffee Crisp? I've seen it in the shops obviously and I've even brought them for the kids, but I've never felt the irresistible urge to go and eat one myself. And I know what puts me off. *A word to Nestle* It is the year 2003, we are now in the 21st century. Why does your Toffee Crisp wrapper look like a 1970's throwback? Seriously, this ...
