You only realise the benefits of something when you haven?t got it. I had been shopping last Friday and for a whole week we had to manage without Heinz Tomato sauce and let me just say we did miss it. The mere fact that you can put tomato sauce on almost every meal, fish and chips aren?t the same without Tomato sauce, my roast meal isn?t complete with Tomato sauce or my pasta isn?t the same without tomato sauce. Yes, I love tomato sauce. Whether it?s the squeezable bottle or the glass bottle, where you have to give it a good shake. It doesn?t matter because it tastes just as good. Yes, I can hear someone you thinking that forget Heinz Tomato sauce you can get cheaper supermarket own brands. For me they are just not the same there is just something extremely special about Tomato sauce that just makes your meal complete. The recipe is a secret?.well the best things are. But, it just tastes delicious. It contains vitamins and antioxidants which are supposed to be good for you. The infamous red bottle is well known probably around the world. If you saw the Heinz Tomato ketchup bottle on the supermarket store it stands out at you from a mile. It?s got quality written all over it. For £1.55 you can buy a 700g squeezable bottle. For me the squeezable bottle is a real good idea because you can control the amount of sauce coming out. What the official Heinz sites says: ?Heinz Ketchup has stood for quality and authenticity for over 100 years and uses a unique combination of the best ingredients to give a thick, rich texture and delicious tomato taste?. With no artificial colours or preservatives. No added thickener. Source of lycopene 2mg per 100ml serving. It is suitable for a gluten free diet. If you are counting the calories, it?s much better than garlic sauce only 10 calories per tablespoon. Ingredients Tomatoes (126g per 100g Ketchup), Spirit Vinegar, Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Salt, S
pice and Herb Extracts, Spice, Garlic Powder. Heinz Tomato sauce is just the best for me and my family. You may pay that little bit extra but it?s well worth paying the bit of extra taste. For me there are no substitutes. Heinz Tomato Sauce is simple the best.

- 20/10/02 I was over the moon the day I found out tomato ketchup was actually good for me - as you say, it is a good source (or should that be sauce?) of lycopene, which is an anti-cancer agent. :) |

- 20/10/02 A good op. I like to use tomato sauce in cooking sometimes, and agree that Heinz is the best. |
