Advantages: Delicious, Many Uses

Disadvantages: None for me!!!

Ketsiap, catsup, ketchup – oh that lovely red sauce. Did you know that tomato sauce was first made by the Chinese and was introduced to the Western world by British sailors? That is my fun little factoid for the day.

As everyone knows (or at least anyone who has read the other reviews on this product at dooyoo or has read the back of a bottle), tomato sauce is essentially tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, water and salt. However, there is something special about the way that Heinz makes its deep, red, delicious sauce. It has an extra little kick to it – there is a little vinegary aftertaste from a Heinz sauce that isn’t too strong as to overpower the senses, but just strong enough to remind you what you just enjoyed.

I love to spread it around and mix it with just about everything. I put it on steak, I mix it with scrambled eggs, I concoct peanut butter and tomato sauce sandwiches, I stack bacon high on a slice of bread and drench it in the red sauce of the gods, I dash it onto my crisps, I’ll mix it in with my noodles, and yes, I’ll even drink it straight from the bottle.

Some people may think that my love of this divine sauce is over the top, but I feel that the taste of it is one of the finest pleasures on this earth. Plus, it can be very, very good for you, too. Besides containing lycopene, the carotenoid that reduces the risk of several types of cancer, I have found these other wonderful benefits of using tomato sauce:

Upset Tummy: My gran used to give me five table spoons of Heinz Tomato Sauce in order to settle my upset stomach.

Athlete’s Foot: My gran would have me soak my feet in Heinz Tomato Sauce mixed with water and salt to prevent and cure athlete’s foot. I believe it is the vinegar that acts to defeat this foot plague.

Acne: When I broke out in acne as a teenager, my gran mixed together Heinz Tomato Sauce with oatmeal and a banana, blend it toget
her into a paste and apply it to my face. She would rub it vigorously on my face for a good ten minutes and then rinse the mixture off.

Furthermore, I have found the red, ripe, righteous, royal sauce to be of use in other, unconventional ways . . . (Warning: Adult Material!)

I have used it on occasion as a lubricant and have found that the slight burning/tingling sensation can be quite exhilarating! Obviously, this may not be for everyone, but for those who enjoy a little adventure and like the smell of Heinz Tomato Sauce it can be quite nice. My partner, she enjoyed it too, and it isn't that messy to clean up. You just have to be careful for it can stain the bed sheets.

Thank you one and all for reading. You are all very kind.
