... sickly sweetness but geobars get it just right. I also like the apricot version but don't find it as special as cranberry. I have yet to try the chocolate version as I am not a big fan of chocolate and thought it might be too sweet. The chocolate and apricot flavour multipacks are much more widely available in many supermarkets. Fairtrade shops are more likely to stock the whole range, or you can get them online at traidcraft. I like to buy fairtrade products wherever possible, in order to help provide a more sustai...more

Crowned Review Traidcraft Geobars: Geobar, for on the go. (784 words)

I work 2 days a week, and have to be at work for 8am. As Toby comes to work with me, and the journey takes around 20 minutes, there's no way I can contemplate organising breakfast before we go, as I'm not a morning person. Toby happily has breakfast once we get there, whilst I'm sorting out the 2 children I look after, and organising stuff for the day and school run. I have therefore found myself missing out on breakfast, so I always ensure that I have a Geobar in my bag, either for the journey to work or as we are walking to school. The Geobar I always eat is the chocolate and raisin bar, those who know me and have read many of my reviews, won't be ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Fairly Pricey (787 words)

I was in an Oxfam shop a while ago, and spotted Traidcraft Geobars. I was looking for things to eat in an airport a few days later, and these looked ideal. From the description, they were a kind of cereal bar, but not specifically intended for breakfasts. Since I like to buy fairly traded food whenever possible, I decided to get some for the family. There were four flavours: chocolate, apricot, and a couple of others. Two of us decided on chocolate, and two decided on apricot. Mine was apricot, but out of interest I swopped a bit of mine for some of my son's chocolate one, so I could compare the two. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review HAVE A SNACK AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE WORLD (448 words)

Geobar A chocolate cereal bar with a difference! I bought my first Geobar last week at work. My work Bistro has decided, much to our general joy, to go fair-trade. So we can now buy fair-trade coffee, tea, chocolate and snacks if we want to. And we certainly do! This chocolate cereal bar is made by Traidcraft and I have to say I thought it was really nice. Sometimes this type of thing can be too chewy or not chewy enough, but this bar is quite different. It is very light, sweet, but not overly so, and crispy, but with a melt in the mouth texture that is really nice. It has raisins, honey and chocolate as well as crisped rice, wheat and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Traidcraft Geobars: Give the poor a break with this fair cereal bar (1468 words)

Maybe I was a budgie in my past life but it seems as though I have a primeval instinct to eat cereal bars. Okay, this is partly fuelled by an overall health drive. A few years ago the odd chocolate wafer would be a staple of my lunches. Then I thought: imagine what chemistry experiments are going on inside me with all of those mysterious E numbered flavourings and additives. It's time I gave them up for good. And I have, more or less. My taste for cereal bars has led me to try out various supermarket's brands (which I have found to be by and large disappointing gungey concoctions), You Are What You Eat bars (sickly sweet) and Tracker bars (nice and crunchy ...  Read the complete review
