I first heard about Trident on a radio programme. The guy from the company was pointing out how the UK market is filled with mint gums and there weren't any designed just for the taste of it. I thought it sounded a nice idea to have gums that are like sweets. I was also happy to find they are sugar free. The colourful packaging also drew me in a bit I must admit! Now I am one of those people who often eat to amuse my mouth, not because I am hungry. I've tried chewing gum instead but I hate mint flavour. Reminds me of toothpaste! I figured that this new gum would help so I went for the strawberry and lime. Odd combination but seems to work. It is a nice chew but I am ... Read the complete review

Trident Splash Strawberry and Lime Sugarfree Gum has only recently been introduced onto the market, perhaps in the past couple of years, and yet seems to have established itself as a brand that can rival its well known competitors, such as Wrigleys and Extra. The gum has a liquid centre and is sugarfree, and instead uses sweeteners to add its distinctive taste. - Packaging The gum comes in packs of 9, in a 3 x 3 packet. Each piece of gum is in its own little compartment, and each compartment is covered with foil. This ensures that the gum remains fresh and doesn't become damp - I often find this to be the case with brands such as Extra and Wrigley, ... Read the complete review

OK...so when I write reviews of products I usually find it easy to write 600-1000 words on something that I enjoy. Unfortunately, this is a product that I really did not enjoy and left me feeling really disappointed. Yes, now I know that I should not allow myself to be goverened by advertising, but the adverts for this product would have you believe that the chewing gum is full of juice that is exciting and tasty. I found out the following: * The juice taste lasted for about 30 seconds - then the chewing gum tasted gritty * The flavours were over sweet, artificial to the point where I wanted to spit them out and not anything ... I buy chewing gum on a regular and frequent basis. I usually look out for whatever gum is on offer and at the moment Cadbury Trebor Basset's Trident Splash fits that bill. It can normally be found priced at around 45p to 59p for a pack but at the moment it is 3 packs for £1 in Poundland and Iceland and 75p for 2 packs in Superdrug. Each pack contains 9 tablets of gum. The packaging is over elaborate, consisting of a plastic rectangle with 9 indents for the gum. The plastic is foil backed so that you press through the plastic and force the gum out via the foil. An open-ended cardboard sleeve encases the plastic frame. At 9cm x 6.5cm x 0.8cm it is quite bulky ... Read the complete review

At around 50p a pack, it's hard to believe just how expensive chewing gum has got. Of course, a lot of that is to do with the way it's no longer a simple stick like a juicyfruit classic; these days, chewing gum has got difficult, and Trident Splash is a prime example. Each box contains six chewing gums, which isn't a lot at all, and for that you would expect them to be really amazing. You begin with a hard candy outer, which is easy to bite through. This outer shell is sweet but not overtly flavoured with anything. The reason why becomes obvious when you take a bite and are hit with a kind of cool liquid gel, tasting of lime and strawberry (the clue ... Read the complete review
