Advantages: a great taste and very moreish
Disadvantages: none
Tunnocks tea cakes are not to be confused with the tea cakes that you can toast and put butter on.
Tunnocks started out in 1890 and is still a family business.
Tunnocks made these when I was young and I loved them then and gave them to my own children and soon my own Grandchildren will be having them.
The tea cakes themselves are one and a half inches high x 2" circular.
These are a biscuit base, topped with marshmallow and then covered with real milk chocolate and they are so delicious to eat.
You can buy them in boxes of 6 or 10s Each tea cake is wrapped individually and very easy to unwrap.
Ingredients
Mallow 38%
Milk chocolate 34%
milk solids
Lecithin
Flour, vegetable oil, sugar, chocolate
solids
agents
They weigh 24g
Each tea cake contains
106 calories
8.6g sugars
4.6g fat
2.5g Saturates
0.17g salt
Now there are a couple of ways to eat these!
You can bite into them and eat them like you do a slice of cake
You can gently take the chocolate off and eat that first and then the rest
Or You can separate the marshmallow with the chocolate on from the biscuit!
The marshmallow has jam right in the middle of it.
They are very good for lunch boxes, a snack or just about anytime.
They do do them in dark chocolate but I havent tried these.
I would definately recommend buying these as they are very tasty the biscuit is not too crumbly the marshmallow is white and the chocolate on top is just dipped on and not too thick.
Thank you for reading
Summary: An individually wrapped tea cake with chocolate, marshmallow and biscuit
