... 11cm or 4.5 inches. I am convinced that they have shrunk over time, but as I never took the time to measure them as a child I can't be sure! The official blurb for a Twix bar is as follows; "Twix is a chocolate snack or candy bar made by Mars, Inc. consisting of a cookie centre topped with caramel and coated in milk chocolate", to me this is just a fancy way of saying a biscuit base with caramel covered in chocolate. Although described as caramel I would describe it to be more of a soft toffee. The mixture ...more

Premium Review Twix (492 words)

Rating:

I've just bought one of these for the first time in years and it's totally reminded why they used to be one of my favourite chocolate bars. Mine cost 40p for the usual 2 finger pack from the corner shop but the price can vary greatly from shop to shop. They can also be found in multipacks in most supermarkets and these work out as much better value, the 5 pack of twin finger Twixes is currently £1.35 in Tesco which works out as 27p each. You can also get king size or fun size Twix bars, or 1 finger bars. The twin finger bars come in a shiny gold wrapper which is always easy to spot, and is made of foil like most wrappers to keep the bar fresh. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Coffee Aftertaste ... ? (415 words)

Twix is officially one of my favourite chocolate bars! I had one today and I could have sworn the taste has changed since the last time I had one. It had a lovely essence of coffee in the aftertaste, which bought such pleasure to my mouth. The bar comes in two sticks and is very tasty and quite unique. It is also quite filling and has a variety of ingredients to give it a lovely texture. It comes in a golden packet with the 'Twix' logo in huge, red, bolt letters. These letters are outlined in white, making it stand out amongst most other chocolate bars. The wrapping paper has a foil lining inside to keep the bar fresh. It has a flap on the back so that you can ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twix: twix or treat (200 words)
by - written on 16/04/08 (Useful, 41 readings)

As you have probably gathered by now I am a big fan of junk food in any shape or form, twix is just another bar of chocolate on my regular list of junk I consume. A twix concists of a thin long short bread biscuit which is nicely moist and not too dry but crisp to bite into and crunchy to chew, it isnt very sweet tasting but doesnt need to be as the rest of the ingredients compensate for this. The biscuit has a thich layer of toffee on the top of it which is thich and chewy in texture, very creamy and sweet in taste, all of this is covered in a lovely thick layer of milk chocolate which is sweet and smooth giving the twix a lovely combined taste and texture of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Great with coffeee (185 words)

It shows how popular this chocolate bar is by the fact that it can be found in every shop that sells confectionary plus it always has a prominant place on he shelves and comes in a few different pack sizes. Personally I like to have it as a mid morning snack with a coffee as it is very much like a buscuit rathe than a sweet. The standard size comes with two fingers of twix wrapped in a gold wrapper with the distinctive red wording on the front, you can also buy a large size as well as a variety of multi packs. It has a lovely sweet taste and is a combination of a crispy buscuit base with a layer of sweet creamy caramel on top all wrapped inside a ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Twix: Stick two fingers up to other snacks! (1084 words)

One of my all time favourite snack`s is the well known Twix bar, Twix is made by mars and has been around for the longest time (since 1967 to be precise). Now most of you guys on here will not have been around then let alone be able to remember it but I for one can and I still remember my delight as I took the first ever bite of a Twix bar. They became my instant favourite and even after all these years and the arrival of ever more delicious sweets to the market they remain one of my first choices today. Twix has been the centre of many discussions over the years as to whether it should be marketed as a chocolate bar or a biscuit because of its ...  Read the complete review
