Advantages: Lovely Caramel + Chocolate + Biscuit
Disadvantages: All good things are bad :(
The 'Twix' is a chocolate bar manufactured by Mars. The product generally comes with two biscuit-and-caramel fingers in each pack. This poses the question that if a set of two fingers are collectively called 'Twix', is one finger on its own a 'Twick'?... i'll leave that debate for another time.
Although I believed the Twix was an American product, it was actually here in the UK where the popular confectionary bar made its debut; 1967 was the date - with the US only introducing the Twix in 1979.
I have always enjoyed a regular Twix, which comes in a golden wrapper with red text. The biscuit base makes the product not as sickly as either a Mars or Snickers bar, and although I try not to, I can generally eat a few of them with a cup of tea (yes, I know that's greedy....).
The Twix always held a certain mystique with me, as I grew up in a household where the common-or-garden Kit-Kat - 'kittus-katticus' (Latin name?) was commonplace with a cup of tea. Therefore, when I arrived at an age where I was able to make my own purchases, me and the Twix had a lot of catching up to do!
A single 58g Twix bar costs 38p from Tesco, whilst the five Twix multipack will set you back £1.40 (but don't at them all at once).
In terms of its ingredients, the Twix is 35% Milk chocolate, 32% covered caramel, and the rest is made up of biscuit and other general things which are fairly bad for you. It is however, 100% delicious!
I love the Twix, and want one now, but i don't have any :(
Summary: Great accompaniment to tea
