Advantages: A satisfying chocolate bar

Disadvantages: none

Where does the time go?! Wikipedia informs me that the Twix bar was introduced to the UK in 1967 by Mars confectionery.
One Twix bar comprises of two fingers and costs 38p but we have a local discount shop that often sells the Twix bars at 4 for £1.
Twix bars are not only sold in twin finger bars but in Fun size and Family size packs too.
A Twix bar can be enjoyed at any time of day, as an `elevenses` snack, taken with a packed lunch or just as a treat.

The Twix is a straightforward snack bar, a slim crisp layer of shortcake biscuit is topped with another layer of soft caramel.
The entire biscuit is then thickly coated in milk chocolate, the chocolate remains rippled on the top of the Twix finger making the finished product look attractive.
The Twix bar is then heat sealed in a gold coloured plastic packet and bears the name Twix in bold red letters.

The art of enjoying a Twix is to savour every moment, there are the `suckers` who pay particular attention to delicately removing every last vestige of chocolate before tackling the remaining shortcake and caramel.
The `nibblers` who work their way in a `mouse-like` fashion around the Twix finger until at some stage a few hours later all that is left is the shortcake and caramel biscuit.
The `Gulpers`who are the clock-watchers, hurrying to optimise their lunch hour, they don't want to waste a single second and munch the Twix finger as though it were the last thing they would ever eat.

The chocolate is rich and creamy and makes up 35% of the Twix finger, 32% is a rich soft caramel which sits neatly on top of the remaining 33% of crunchy shortcake biscuit.
All in all a scrumptious and satisfying mixture.
One Twix finger contains 142 calories, no preservatives but there are traces of almond and hazelnut.

Lidl`s have their own version of a Twix bar, plainly called a caramel finger but it cant hold a candle to the real thing.
In certain countries throughout the World the Twix bar is known as the `Raider` bar.
Twix is also available as an ice cream bar and I can often buy these in Farmfoods very cheaply.
Twix bars can be used in dessert recipes too, the nature of the Twix makes it easy to put into a food processor to add to cakes or ice cream creations.

The twin fingered bar gives the impression that it should be shared but I steadfastly refuse to share my Twix with anyone!
The chocolate bar is attractive to all age groups, the only drawback could be the addictive quality of the bar, so take my advice and just buy a twin finger pack at a time!

Summary: A satisfying chocolate bar enjoyed by all age groups.
