Advantages: Yummy!
Disadvantages: None
Twix is one of the most popular chocolate bars, produced by Mars, that has been around in the UK since 1967. It is a milk chocolate covered caramel and biscuit bar shaped like a long finger. The great thing about this bar is the amount you get, as in each single package, there are 2 fingers - double enjoyment!
The twin bars come in a shiny golden plastic wrapper with the word 'Twix' in red on the front and a picture of the bar. They cost roughly the same amount as any other normal chocolate bar, around 40-60p depending on where you're buying it from. You can buy these from everywhere, all shops, big and small, usually sell them in the chocolate bar section.
Each finger is coated in wavy milk chocolate so you can tell that the chocolate has been dripped over it when being made. When you bite into it, the bottom half of the bar is made from shortbread biscuit and the top half is a soft caramel, but not runny. The mixture of soft caramel and hard biscuit is what makes this bar great in my opinion and the taste of the 3 sweet combinations all mixed together is simply divine! This bar is also great as you can just eat the one bar and save the other for later, or it's a good snack for sharing if you're only a little peckish.
Twixes contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives but they do contain 142kcal and 6.9g of fat in each finger so they aren't too great for you. But who cares cos they're yummy! The packet does state that there are traces of hazelnut and almond in the bar and I'm allergic to nuts but I've never had a reaction to a Twix so I'm sure they're fine.
Twix isn't one of my favourite chocolate bars and I don't often buy them, but on the occasions when I'm out and about and I feel a little peckish or need a chocolate fix, I'll sometimes opt for a Twix for a mixture of chocolate and biscuit hit. Admittedly, as it isn't made up of just chocolate, it's not always as satisfying as some other plain chocolate bars, and doesn't give you that full chocolate sensation, but, when I fancy one, it really works wonders. Ooh, my mouth is salivating now just from looking at the packaging! Shame I've already eaten it!
Summary: A tasty chocolate bar that's always one of my top picks
