Advantages: Not Messy
Disadvantages: None
The Background
I don't think there are many people in the UK who have not tried a Twix. They are basically a finger of biscuit which is about 4" long topped in cramel and covered in chocolate. They have made by Mars and were first produced in the UK in 1967. You will usually find them in pairs but you can also get singular twix in party packs etc.
The Twix Experience
I have been eating this product for many years now but what spurred the review was when I open a packet of 9 Twix fingers last night which had been bought from Tesco for £1.18, according to my receipt. This isn't a bad price because for a two finger twix you can expect to pay about 42p.
Availabilty and Sizes
Twix Bar
Twix Fingers
Twix Mutlipack
Twix Funsize
Twix Kingsize
All these are available in supermarkets throughout the UK. Most smaller shops just stock the standard 2 finger Twix bar.
How do you eat yours?
Well personally I love biting all the chocolate and caramel off first. I find this even nicer if you have frozen it first (what is it with me and frozen chocolate?) If it isn't frozen it literally melts in your mouth. It isn't sickly either, it just makes you look forward to the biscuit. I'm not sure how to describe the biscuit. I guess it can best be described as between a digestive and shortbread. It is quite crunchy but is also very nice.
The future
Over the years Mars has trialled many different versions of the Twix but at the end of the day the only successful one is the original. I for one would wholly recommend this 'biscuit' to all age groups. It certainly fills a hole when you are hungry.
Summary: A great biscuit for all occasions
