Twix:
Twix is another one of my favourite chocolate bars, and once again have been a fan of it since I was a young kid. Twix just sounds and tastes exciting; everything from the packaging, the taste and the feeling leaves your mouth with an everlasting taste of goodness.
Brief History:
Twix is part of the famous Mars Inc Corporation, who has made some famous chocolates such as Maltesers.
Twix was first introduced in the US in 1979, and has become a globally recognised brand. Twix has been called Raider in several other countries. Since its introduction the Twix chocolate has been changed in many different ways, in the US you can get Twix in a variety of flavours such as Peanut Butter, Cookie and Cream and so on.
Nutritional Values:
Twix contains (per pack):
Energy - 1203 KJ/287 kcal
Protein - 2.7g
Carbohydrate - 37.6g
Fat - 14.0g
These values are for a standard size bar; obviously the King Size bars will have higher calories, sugar content, fat content and so forth.
Taste:
Twix has a brilliant taste to it's, the combination of the caramel chocolate and the biscuit make it a great products. The first bite is always the best; you get to taste the soft caramelised chocolate, whilst also getting a crisp biscuit taste, which goes very well with the caramel. The biscuit absorbs the caramel chocolate and thus its not to sticky, it acts like a base for the surrounding layers.
Texture:
The chocolate has both a soft and crisp texture, the caramel chocolate is soft and sweet, whilst the biscuit middle layer, has a bite. It's not too hard and it's not too soft, it's just perfect.
I love eating a Twix bar, it's got everything a chocolate needs to have, its soft at times, and crunchy as well, it's not too thick; whilst at the same time it's not too hard that you would break a tooth. There are so many ways of eating a Twix, my personal favourite is to eat the top soft chocolate layer first, and leave the biscuit base for last, but hey that's just my opinion on how I would eat it.
Overall great products, everything from the packaging, taste and texture makes you want to grab this product and consume it in one big gulp.
Price: Again like most products the price for the bar can varies from £0.40 to £0.45 for the small twin pack. King size pack tends to go on sale within the £0.70p region. Twix can also be bought in a multipack, from various retails such as Asda, Tesco, and Sainsbury's and so on; it's just a case of looking for it.
Summary: Twix.....
