Advantages: Taste, texture, filling

Disadvantages: Single price is high, too big for some

Today snack on the way to work is the always popular Twix bar. I've got a two finger one with each finger weighing 29g so this is quite a large snack to be honest compared to many rivals which are around the 30g bar in total.

Coming in a shiny hole foil wrapper with jagged lettering in the middle with the name of the product it stands out again the purples of Cadburys and the orange of things like Toffee crisp and Hershey or the dark of Galaxy and Mars.

Talking about Mars it is them that actually make the bars, not something I was aware of previously. The bars are more of a chocolate biscuit than that of a stand blood chocolate bar and this opens it to both the chocolate bar market (alongside things like Snickners, Caramel Bars and Double Deckers) and the chocolate biscuit one (along side penguins and wagon wheels). Cleverly this gives them 2 different sorts of customers, those buying family biscuits and those buying themselves a quick bite to eat.

So on to the bar comes with an outer chocolate coat which is smooth on the bottom but quite wavy on the top. When bitten into you get a large dose of biscuit on the bottom thats fresh and snaps on impact whilst the layer on the top is made of soft sticky Caramel thats delightfully chewy. Although they are quite long (about 5 inches) they are very manageable and even after 2 Im not feeling bloated.

Nutritional information (per finger)

6.9g fat
1.4g protein

It contains E 500 and traces of hazelnuts and almonds. But no notes on vegetarian suitability. They do however contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Overall a nice treat thats larger than most and sticks two fingers up at those who like to label...but is it a chocolate biscuit? Or a chocolate bar with biscuit in it?

Summary: I have 2 chocolate fingers buried deep inside me
