Advantages: Great combination of biscuit, caramel and chocolate, not sickly

Disadvantages: The price is rising and the packs are getting scaled down

Twix's have always and probably always will remain one of my worst addictions. I have always been something of a chocaholic and this chocolate bar has ensured that that this fix will not go away anytime soon. Like all chocolate bars, they have risen markedly in price in the last 10 years and now retail at about 40p plus for a standard bar. They come in a gold wrapping which is instantly recognisable and certainly helps these to stand out from the other brands. In a standard bar are 2 fingers of short bread, with a caramel centre in a chocolate coating.

Unlike some chocolate bars they are not in the least bit sickly but are incredibly tasty. What makes them so tasty is their sweet richness and of course the short bread gives them a very satisfying crunchiness. It's a great combination and leaves you wanting more.

Clearly there is a high sugar content in these delicious chocolate caramel biscuit fingers and therefore you do need to be watchful about just how much you eat. In fact just thinking about them makes me want to nip down the shops and buy some but for the sake of my teeth I must resist!. Still.....at least in this deep recession our buying habits will keep the dentists happy.

The one disappointment from an ardent twix fan is that the twix's have become notably smaller and yet we are paying more than ever for them. However fortunately you can also buy these in multi packs which definitely do represent substantial savings on the single bar purchases.

Definitely the best chocolate bar in my opinion
