Advantages: great taste

Disadvantages: wraper a little bland

Twix bars seem to have been around since the dawn of time. Over the years, variations on the classic design have appeared. Two fingered bars, three fingered...I await the Twix eight fingered bar!

It is a perfect snack to have if you are quite hungry and not yet ready for your lunch or evening meal. The bar suffices as a stop gap without filling you up too much.

Packaging:

The bars come in easy to open plastic wrappers. They haven't changed the look of the wrapper in years and I suspect it will always be in that golden coloured sleeve.

The Look of the bar:

A Twix is oblong bar, which looks rather like a small flute, covered in chocolate. It has a textured surface, though not overly rippled. The bars are best eaten bite by bite. I am yet to know anyone who can wedge an entire bar straight down their throat in one go!

The Taste:

The taste is the best part. The outer layer is a promising and satisfying coating of milk chocolate. It is coated thickly. I like to slowly lick it off with with the tongue, exposing the next layer. It is rather like undressing a lady by candlelight, a seductive and intimate affair. Once this layer has been removed you will be greeted by a layer of caramel. This is the highlight of the bar; a wonderful naughty sticky gooey treat which gets stuck in the teeth, You can tease the caramel off and stretch it like a balloon. The final layer is a shortbread biscuit, which has just the right balance of sugars in it. It is not as sweet as the tinned shortbreads that you can buy, a little more delicate, but just as rewarding.

Value for money:

Depending on which sized bar you buy, I think these do represent good value for money. The two fingered bar in particular is great because you can eat one stick, then save the other for a tea break. Ideal for kids' lunchboxes or also to top chocolate cakes with!
