Uncle Ben's is a brand that we all know of, even if we aren't a great fan of their products. It is an American company, owned by the Mars inc, and is a huge supplier of processed and instant meal solutions. As most of you will know, Uncle Bens is a brand name for most familys. They provide us with a variety of different rice dishes and also currys/Chinese sauces for us to use on main meals. Lately, a new range came on to the market. These were microwaveable rice packets. This was more of a convenience thing than anything and this shows in the price. The price of each microwaveable packet is about £1.60, though these are on offer as 3 for £3.75 and such like. This is a variety of microwavable rice made by Uncle Bens, there are a lot of different flavours available but this review is for the egg fried rice variant. It comes in a bright orange packet with a picture of a bowl of rice on the front. The pack is 250g. It tells you on the front that it contains no artificial colours ,flavours or preservatives. All you need to do to cook it is, squeeze the bag a bit to separate the rice, tear a small hole in the top of the bag (don't forget do do this as else it explodes-been there done that!) and put in the microwave for 2 minutes and thats it!
