Bingo 2 minutes and it is ready to eat either on its own as a quick snack or light lunch or as part of a meal, it is great with chicken. My favourites include Thai Curry Rice, Golden Vegetable and Egg Fried Rice, all of which are particularly tasty and authentic tasting. Best time to buy them is when they are on offer in the supermarkets at 2 for £2, 3 for £3 or currently in Sainsbury's 5 for £5, st...more

Premium Review Uncle Ben's Express Rice: Rice Which Is Quite Nice (854 words)

I am not really much of a cook and although I am good when it comes to cooking things like meat and pasta, if there's one thing I really cannot cook it is rice. I have never really understood how to cook it, I know it can be done in the microwave or it can be done on the hob but still I just never really learned I suppose. Anyway, thanks to Uncle Ben's doing their microwaveable sachet's of rice, they have made my life easier as when I want to have a meat dish and want the sauce to be absorbed by something like rice; it means I can still have it even if I don't know how to do it the old fashioned way. Uncle Ben's is owned by Mars Inc. This quite shocked me as I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Uncle Ben's does it again! (485 words)

This is the best type of rice I have eaten ever! I first tried Uncle Ben's rice a few weeks ago and it was amazing. I had it with a curry and I mixed it all in and I have never tasted such a good mix. The tastes were great. The rice is not starchy or anything that it should not be. It does not taste processed and it is good for you! This particular rice is Long Grain and Wild Rice and this is quite different compared tot he others. I find it would suit with things like Chilli con Carne. This is because I don't think I would put it with a curry, I would put wholegrain with that. Uncle Ben's is a great idea, because when you get in from work or uni ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Uncle Ben's Express Rice: Perfect rice - fast! (634 words)

I would usually boil my own rice as, for myself, I don't honestly see the point of this type of 'quick' rice as this is one food that is easy enough to cook without the aid of Uncle Ben! However, I had a voucher for £1 off a pouch of Express Rice so decided I might as well buy one and keep it in the cupboard for quickness. I bought the Long Grain & Wild Rice variety but was shocked to see at least 15 different varieties of this rice on the shelf in Sainsburys; foolishly I had imagined the Express Rice range would basically cover white and brown rice but in reality there is every type you could imagine. Cooking the rice couldn't be simpler, ...  Read the complete review

Ever needed a quick snack but to busy to cook anything, then I recommend Uncle Bens express rice which will microwave in 2 minutes making a perfect snack for 1 or with a meal for 2 people. I really enjoy eating rice as either a snack or with an evening meal and was really happy when Uncle Bens introduced their express rice which can either be microwaved for 2 minutes or cooked in a sauce pan with a bit of water for 3 minutes. I find that the microwavable rice is very handy for people who work constantly and are too busy to either cook or go out for food like me, as it cooks very quickly in the microwave and will stay hot for a long time in the ...  Read the complete review

Uncle Ben's express rice I get bored of eating the same things every day so one day while doing the shopping I came across Uncle Bens express rice it comes in lots of different flavours but I choose the Chinese style. The reason that I chose these was because the only took 2 minutes to cook in the microwave which is handy for my lunch in work because they are easy and a change from my boring sandwiches. They are not expensive as well at around £1.85 a bag but in some places they do offers at 2 for £2.50. Cooking instructions This is really simple to cook there are 2 ways firstly in the microwave you squeeze the rice to separate the ...  Read the complete review
