This particular brand of rice is one of my favourites. Being a huge Uncle Bens fan i always make sure my cupboard is fully stocked with this stuff. In particular the tomato and basil flavour is really nice because you get that lovely tomato aroma and they taste absolutely divine! And there's just a hint of basil which isn't too overpowering. Considering they are made in the microwave within 2 mins, they are still really nice and soft. I actually prefer these rice to regular rice smply because of the convenience. There's no mess, it's just a case of cutting the pouch and pour into your plate. Also the fact that you can easily transport 5 (250 gram) packs into your bag without any effort whatsoever - if you're on the road alot like me, then these are ideal. The packs themselves are quite tough and ideal for long term storage - similar to tins but without the weight. That also takes the need out of measuring your portion size and if your weight conscious like myself, that's an added bonus. They are suitable for vegetarians. The rice only contain (per 100gram), 181 calories, of which 4.2g is fat (0.6 saturated) and 32.2g carbohydrate and if you add some tuna (for example) you've got yourself a well balanced meal.

The price is typically over £1.50 per pack, but currently on offer at Asda for 3 for £3.50, so stock up well. The only similar rice I have seen and tasted that even come close to these are the new Veetee rice. They also come in different flavours and are microwaveable.
